E3 Expo - From Trade Show To Sideshow

written by John Chow on May 14th, 2007

Normally, May is the month of E3 Expo, the biggest interactive video game show in the world. I have been going to E3 Expo in Los Angeles for years and have always look forward to checking out the booth babes, gaming hardware, booth babes, video games, booth babes and partying with the companies in attendance.

There is an E3 this year but it’s no longer in May and it’s no longer the big deal it was in the past. Because the big game makers (Sony, MS, Nintendo & EA) wasn’t getting the ROI they wanted from the show, E3 has now been reduced to a little sideshow in Santa Monica call E3 Media & Business Summit. The event runs July 11-13 and is by invite only. Between 3,000 to 4,000 people are expected to attend - a far cry from the 60,000+ that attended the last E3 Expo. I received an invite but I don’t think I’ll be going. E3 as a business event? Please!

For a trip down memory lane, I figure I would post some photos from last year’s E3 Expo. You won’t be seeing anything like this from E3 again.

Oh… hehe… somehow I missed all of the content and just paid attention to the babes…

WTF NO E3!??! Wow, I heard something about this but I didn’t really look into it. That is very sad because E3 is THE BIGGEST gaming convention! Everybody knows about it. Damn those greedy corporations. I think them pulling out will probably hurt them more than help them. Bad move for them imo. It might not hurt MS as much as the other companies though…

Ya… not really sure what’s up with that. John’s site has something weird with it. Those lines appear randomly everywhere. Not sure what it is.

haha, that’s harsh….

the first right a man can have is to look at beautiful women

that’s what we men have our eyes for, well, at least it remains true on my part

Yes John, as you said on your older post, the beautiful women attract the traffic. I have tested this! I was present at an IT show last week and I made a poll with the Best Lookning Booth Babes. I’ve received traffic and attention. Nice photos!

I really wanted to attend an E3 at some point in my life, and when they announced all this I was so angry. There’s still another gameshow though I can’t remember the name, but it is supposed to be pretty big.

I completely get what Jenny McCarthy was doing there, but Paris? Hmmm anyway, pretty good pictures, John. Too bad this year’s E3 won’t be as action-packed as the ones in the past.
