Enter The $7,000 PublisherForums.com Contest

written by John Chow on December 2, 2010

The Ultimate Online Profit Model

A couple weeks ago my friend Tyler Cruz launched the PublisherForums.com $7,000 Contest (I supplied some prizes to the contest). Basically, it’s a webmaster forum posting contest where effort is rewarded (no random drawings). There are prizes for the top posters, top quality posters, and top referrers.

Tyler has a total of 55 prizes that will be given away to 12 lucky winners. The prizes are put into prize packages. For example, 1st place of the Top Posters category is actually comprised of a bundle 7 prizes valued at $2,163. You can find out all the details on the official contest page at http://www.publisherforums.com/contest/.

Entering the contest is free and with $7,000 worth of stuff up for grabs, I wouldn’t wait. Tyler tells me the number of people entered so far are pretty low so your chances of winning something are really good. Click the image below to enter.

I always like those contest where your efforts are rewarded than those which draw a list and randomly choose winner.

It will definitely boost up the project a little further, good luck Tyler

John Chow December 2, 2010 at 8:30 pm

Are you going to enter? You have a good chance of winning something!

d3so December 2, 2010 at 9:40 pm

There doesn’t some to be any specifics mentioned on this post.
I suppose I’ll be entering.

PPC Ian December 2, 2010 at 11:46 pm

Best of luck to you D3so! You have been on a roll lately in terms of winning stuff on JC…

d3so December 3, 2010 at 12:42 am

Thanks Ian! I was checking the current standings and it looks like I can catch up. Too bad John didn’t announce this earlier. A bunch of people got ahead start.

Abhik December 3, 2010 at 3:10 am

Good Luck :)

Tips For Blog December 6, 2010 at 9:05 pm

Yes shanker Bakshi you are right that this is a very great contest where efforts are rewarded.

Sharat December 2, 2010 at 11:40 pm

I do agree, Shankar…
That’s my opinion too…

Abhik December 2, 2010 at 9:16 pm

I am going to register.. But not sure if I am going to enter in the contest :)

*Registered with your ID as referrer*

d3so December 2, 2010 at 10:11 pm

I already entered and started posting.
The only prize that interests me is the CASH lol.
If I do win some other stuff, I’ll give it away on my blog. :)

PPC Ian December 2, 2010 at 11:46 pm

They say content is king online. However, in the world of investing they often say cash is king! Good luck getting that cash!

d3so December 3, 2010 at 12:44 am

In this world, cash is king.

It seems that there’s also a refferral contest.
If you guys put me as your refferer, I’ll give you a prize if I win :)

Abhik December 3, 2010 at 3:10 am

You should have mentioned it before I registered :p

Harshad December 3, 2010 at 1:32 pm

What prize?

Abhik December 3, 2010 at 3:14 am

I don’t think the TOS of the contest will permit that giving away idea.
However, I can’t see any such page specifically for that contest.

Tyler Cruz December 3, 2010 at 5:10 am

There is no rule against incentivizing referrals… as long as they are legitimate members who follow the rules.

d3so December 3, 2010 at 5:35 pm

Yeah, I didn’t hear anything about incentivizing refferrals. It’s better than faking them. Which I could do very easily ;)

Sharat December 2, 2010 at 11:45 pm

John, I am very new in blogging. At present I am not going to enter such contest. But in future will do it for sure.

I am new on John Chow dot com too and I loved the concept of the blog. Now I have started viewing your previous posts, which are really beneficial.

One more thing. I loved your blog’s title :)

Thanks :)

d3so December 3, 2010 at 12:49 am

You don’t seem new to blogging by the activity on your blog. This contest isn’t even that demanding.
You also have the opportunity to advertise yourself.

Sharat December 3, 2010 at 2:02 am

D2so, I think 2 month old blogger is Newbie only…

You can’t say only 2 month old blogger a professional one.

BTW, I am webmaster from last 4 years. Having 15+ websites. But em new in blogging. :)

Anyways Thanks :)

Abhik December 3, 2010 at 3:18 am

Use your knowledge to start rolling the ball..

d3so December 3, 2010 at 5:36 pm

Since you have experience on the web you can share it on the forums. The forums isn’t only about blogging.

Abhik December 3, 2010 at 3:17 am

Welcome to the world of blogging :)

TBH, if you know how to SPAM, you stand a good chance of winning such posting contest.

Tyler Cruz December 3, 2010 at 5:07 am

Be sure to read the rules before you try to “spam” :-)

d3so December 3, 2010 at 5:38 pm

lol yeah I’ve kept that in mind. In all my posts, I’ve always tried to add some value while being responsive.

ZK @ Web Marketing Blog December 6, 2010 at 6:27 am

Yes if moderation is strict than I am sure spam will be not a problem.

Tips For Blog December 6, 2010 at 9:34 pm

I don’t think that being old or new in the blogging matters much I think you should try it and express your knowledge of web to other people.

Benjamin Kerensa December 3, 2010 at 3:37 am

I’m proud to say Tyler Cruz is no friend of mine.

d3so December 3, 2010 at 5:39 pm

lol why’s that? Is he an enemy?

ZK @ Web Marketing Blog December 6, 2010 at 6:32 am

Well what is the reason of such announcement ?

Would love to know more about it.

Tips For Blog December 6, 2010 at 9:46 pm

And I’m proud to say Tyler Cruz is friend of mine and I also did chat with him.

fas December 3, 2010 at 7:21 am

I would love to win, who wouldnt

d3so December 3, 2010 at 5:40 pm

Remember, you have to take initiative to win. See you on the forums!

Tips For Blog December 6, 2010 at 9:48 pm

Just loving will not going to work your need some more.

John December 3, 2010 at 8:41 am

Hopefully Time will allow me to participate in this interesting contest. What a way to end the year!

d3so December 3, 2010 at 5:41 pm

Yeah, I can’t wait til it’s over but I need the time to get my posts in.

Harshad December 3, 2010 at 1:31 pm

I hope people stick to the forum even after the contest is over. Good Luck Tyler!

d3so December 3, 2010 at 5:43 pm

Based on my observations, the activity on the forum is low. Hopefully this contest gets the ball rolling because the forum has so much potential.

Harshad December 3, 2010 at 11:36 pm

I agree. The contest will get more people in but the problem with such contests is that people stop visiting once the contest is over. I have experienced this myself with some forums including mine which I started a few years back.

Human Development December 7, 2010 at 7:01 am

Obviously people will keep checking the forum after contest is over because of more and more stuffs like this and no doubt there is already a lot to work on.

Human Development December 6, 2010 at 10:41 am

Awesome contest are getting way to come out and these companies are making more to do with the information hubs like johnchow.

Cheap Sunglasses December 6, 2010 at 11:11 am

Wish I had the time.. I could definitely win the “quality posts” part. I have a lot of programming/SEO experience to offer.

There should be more cash prizes IMO.

Tips For Blog December 6, 2010 at 9:00 pm

Thank you John,
I also have contact with John but He did’t told me But I am surly going to take part in this contest because I am going to win.

Lucian December 10, 2010 at 4:28 pm

I’m not a contest fan but probably i will join the forum, i didn;t noticed it so far.

Abhik December 3, 2010 at 3:13 am

That’s exactly why I am NOT entering the contest.

I always look for quality webmaster forums since I got banned from DP for no valid reason.

Tyler Cruz December 3, 2010 at 5:11 am

That’s mostly my fault. I didn’t let John know about it until just a couple days ago :-)

Harshad December 3, 2010 at 1:09 pm

I am sure you can win d3so.

d3so December 3, 2010 at 5:31 pm

The forums seem kind of dead. I’m trying my best to add quality to them. I respond to posts and get involved. Hopefully the other members will reply back.

d3so December 3, 2010 at 5:32 pm

There are many prizes and if I win I don’t have much use for most of them. So I’m going to give them away.

Angad Sodhi December 4, 2010 at 2:33 pm

I agree with you d3so! I replied to some of the posts that you had unearthed but soon realized these posts had been dead since like 2007!

ZK @ Web Marketing Blog December 6, 2010 at 6:22 am

Would love to hear how this is going to happen.

May be I will also decide some kind of contest for my blog on coming days.

ZK @ Web Marketing Blog December 6, 2010 at 6:25 am

Yes you can provide so many things to other people and can easily got recognition.

So go for it … and I am sure you will also learn many things.

ZK @ Web Marketing Blog December 6, 2010 at 6:43 am

Certainly this one is great …

Tyler I think you should talk with Darren adn Jeremy as well so that they should also post about this contest on their blogs.

Tips For Blog December 6, 2010 at 9:15 pm

WoW ! d3so you have so big heart give something to me also IF you win.
