Ferrari Factory Tour And The Birth Of The 599
written by John Chow on April 17th, 2007
I came across this cool video from Motor Authority. At 611HP, the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is the most powerful production car Ferrari has ever made (Ferrari has made a more powerful limited production car, the Enzo). This comprehensive documentary reveals the behind the scenes action at Ferrari’s factory in Maranello and gives you a look at how the new 599 is brought to life. As much as I like the new 599, I like the looks of the F430 way more.

I will never own a car like this
Reply to this commentNot much of a car enthuisiast either, i just want to get a comfy, safe, and functional car. nothing more…
But then who knows? When I makea lot of money I’ll be tempted.
Reply to this commentThe Fiorano is probably quite comfy with all that Italian leather. It’s very functional as it goes to 205MPH…what’s more functional than that?
Safe? Well…uh…did I mention how it sounds like a rusted chainsaw?
Reply to this commentwhy do you say that dave? Because of the price, or because you don’t like this type of car?
Reply to this commentI will.

Reply to this commentJohn, the big question is … are you evil enough to get one?
Reply to this commentSaw 7 Ferrari FXX vehicles up close and personal this past at the Ferrari Challenge. Considering there are only 31 of the these super-Enzos in the world, seeing 7 in one spot was pretty amazing. Nice to see them being driven hard as well, although one was driven too hard and nearly ended up in a tire barrier.
Reply to this commentPretty cool! I’m not much of a car guy either, but I’ve take a tour of the Corvette Plant here where I live and thats pretty amazing too. I wish I had robots like that to clean my house!
Reply to this commentI’ve got a tour of the Lotus factory booked for next week, i’m hoping for nice goody bag
Reply to this commentI’m not a fan of the car but if it goes fast i love it.
we just sold a ferrari at where I work. pretty cheap too only like 138K it wasn’t moving at the 198 we were asking for it.
Reply to this commentI would drive it. Maybe John will buy it for me if I link to his site enough.:)
Reply to this commentGreat vid, John! Thanks for sharing.
Reply to this commentJohn can i ask, what car do you drive anyway? I can’t recall you mentioning it over here
I just love cars with such ‘powers’ … every boys dream. But only a few lucky ones, rich & evil
ones I mean, will ever get behind of those
cheers

I live in a city with roads full of holes and bumps. I could not go too far with such a car
… Not that I could not afford one at any time
Reply to this commentGreat video, but I saw only 5 minutes of it. I don’t have time for the whole 45.
Reply to this commentYeah, saw that reportage on TV the other day… Insane!!
And I actually saw my first 599 on the street not too long ago - that’s San Francisco for ya

I have been in a Ferrari, but never drove one (it was during a show).
What’s like? A dream…I have been tempted to turn it on and give it a try…
Would be nice to rent one for marriage… They rent one for $11.019 (8.129 Euros) a weekend: http://www.freedom-tour.com/carrental/ferrari.html
Reply to this commentI haven’t had the pleasure of seeing one in motion or listening to its melodious engine/exhaust note yet, but I’m sure the 599 is magnificent.
My Ferrari model(current) preference: F430, 599 GTB, then the Enzo.
Reply to this commentI actually watched the entire video…pretty amazing stuff. I may never own or drive a Ferrari in my lifetime, but I sure as hell can dream, right?
Reply to this commentI ran across this car when looking at a car magazine before I got my teeth cleaned at the dentist. If I were to own a Ferrari it would be this or a 430..But I have to go with the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, or the Maserati GranTurismo.
Reply to this commentThe 430 is pretty sweet, isn’t it — if I had to drive a yellow car, this would have to be it.
Reply to this commentThanks for sharing this, dude!
Reply to this commentNot everyday we got a grande tour of Ferrari factory.
Sorry to upset Ferrari fans but there’s something about Ferrari I don’t like. Can’t quite put my finger on it… maybe cause it’s Italian (Just Kidding)
I love Porsche especially the Carrera GT, if the Carrera GT was a girl… I’d be on my knees(proposing)
lol
Reply to this commentLast weekend when I was gasing up my car, a brand new ferrari F430 stand by my side.

The old guy, from Liechtenstein, just told me one thing: “When I was young, I dreamed of such a car. I got 120′000€ saved and bought this. Now I can die happy
Damn, I agree with him.
Reply to this commentThat’s a nice story, Ricardo; I wonder if John’s dream car story involves a Ferrari, too…
Reply to this commentyeah, what car do you drive currently john?
