First Comment Spam
written by John Chow on February 2nd, 2006
I got my first comment spam on this blog today. I won’t say who it’s from nor will I link to that site since the whole purpose of doing comment spam is to get backlinks.
The spammer was a bit sneaky. The spam was made to my Wordpress 2.0 Upgrade post, which has now moved to page 2. The spammer was hoping comments are not moderated and would just show up on the blog, and since it’s on page 2, I wouldn’t notice.
For all you spammers out there. Don’t leave comment spam on my blog. This blog moderates all comments so it’ll never show up.

I suggest installing SpamKarma for WP. Will do the filtering for you automatically. Our blog gets hit by roughly 50-100 a day, all are being canned flawlessly.
Thanks! I will look into that.
You’re lucky – I have to delete comment and trackback spam every day on my blog sites.
