Get More Traffic with Keyword Country

written by Michael Kwan on May 21, 2010

How to make $593 in less than one hour

Without traffic, nothing on your website really matters. This is true of online marketplaces like Amazon, just as much as it is true of content-based sites like Beyond the Rhetoric. If people aren’t visiting your site, it’s not going to make any money.

The trouble then, of course, is figuring out how to get that traffic. The research required for proper search engine optimization can be quite time-consuming, but Keyword Country looks like it could aid you in this journey. In this review, we’ll go through what this “all-in-one Internet Marketing tool” has to offer and whether or not it’s worth your hard-earned cash.

Now Entering Keyword Country

In short, Keyword Country is a piece of software designed to help you drive traffic to your website. Much of the focus is placed on search engine optimization, both on-page and off-page, but it offers tools in other areas as well.

The software package is downloaded and installed locally on your computer, but it still communicates back to the Keyword Country server in order to access the constantly updated database and other resources. The installation process is quick and painless, requiring little more than defining the installation folder.

Once installed, you enter your username and password, and then you are shown the different utilities that are available to you. You can start a new project or you can use any of the SEO tools directly.

What Apps Are Included?

Keyword Country is not a solitary application. It consists of almost 20 different tools that each approach traffic building from a slightly different direction.

  • Keyword Research
  • Find LSI Keywords
  • Rip Competitor Keywords
  • Misspelling Keywords
  • Long Tail Keywords
  • Keyword Map
  • Key Phrase Generator
  • SEO Strategy Analysis
  • PPC Strategy Analysis
  • Backlink Analysis
  • PageSpy
  • SEO Marketing
  • PPC Marketing
  • Find Strategic Ad Spots
  • Blog Marketing
  • Affiliate Recruitment
  • Newsletter Promotion
  • Social Marketing
  • Article Marketing

In addition to the ones listed here, the Keyword Country software package also mentions that Video Marketing and Social Bookmarking are features that are “coming soon.”

Taking a look at some of the keyword-focused ones, you’ll find a way to track the keywords that your competitors may be using, any common misspellings that you can capitalize on, and the like.

Shown above is a screenshot from the “Rip Competitor Keywords” tool. I put in the target keyword phrase of “make money online” and it pumped out related keywords that may be of interest. If some of the other top-ranking sites are using them, they might also be useful for your own website too.

While you’ll certainly need the full version of the software to do everything that Keyword Country can do, you can also take advantage of some of the free utilities on the site like the free keyword tool. It’s not nearly as robust, but it is free.

Windows Need Only Apply

Do you use a MacBook? Unless you utilize something like Parallels, you could be out of luck. That’s because Keyword Country is only available for Windows PCs.

I think this is a major mistake on the part of the developers. I’m still a Windows user myself, but a large number of online entrepreneurs use Macs. While I appreciate the added sense of privacy and security that a local installation can provide, I think that there is value in offering a hosted, online version of Keyword Country.

The subscriber needs to log into his or her account anyhow, so it’s not like the existing software package can work in complete isolation. Offer the local installation, but offer an online version too. A less desirable alternative would be to offer different versions for Macs (and maybe Linux).

How Much Does It Cost?

Want to try this website marketing tool for free? Keyword Country offers a free trial if you want to take them out for a test drive. It’s unclear what the restrictions on the trial are, however.

When you’re ready to use Keyword Country for real, you’ll find three subscription options. The month-to-month subscription is $49, the three-month subscription is $99, or the one-year subscription is $299. These come with a 30-day money back guarantee.

It took me too long to realise how important keyword research is. With a couple of the best keyword research tools now under my belt (market samurai and traffic rockstar) i am flying in the keyword world. It can’t hurt to try the free trial of this software to see what its all about though.

College To Careers May 21, 2010 at 11:06 am

hmmm, definitely comes with a lot of good tools.

Hey John, how long after starting to blog did it take you to start bringing in traffic (i.e. 100 uniques/ day in 6 months or 1,000 uniques/day within 1.5 years)?

George185 May 21, 2010 at 11:55 am

Cool program. I haven’t heard of this one before. Very nice.

Sandy Halliday May 21, 2010 at 1:22 pm

In spite of all the stuff you read about keyword rich titles and posts I have heard several top bloggers say they do not worry about keywords. They just write and they get traffic. Do you do a lot of research on keywords for your blog posts John?

Irish Garden Home May 21, 2010 at 1:48 pm

First it will not work on a Mac, bad for me, then they want a monthly subscription, really bad for me, I prefer “pay once for all times” tools, SY

Coat Hanger May 21, 2010 at 2:23 pm

I’m in the “I’m screwed because I run a Mac too” crowd also. I feel your pain.

Irish Garden Home May 22, 2010 at 12:38 am

No pain at all, I am a happy Market Samurai user, does all the above + works on a Mac, all for one low price, SY

Shivam May 23, 2010 at 9:50 pm

KeywordCountry does alot more than what Market Samurai is doing right now.

Just tried KeywordCountry and goes into a lot more detail of SEO Strategy and PPC Strategy of your competitors.

Lakhyajyoti May 21, 2010 at 8:18 pm

Really it is difficult to pay monthly.

jtGraphic: James Thompson June 29, 2010 at 10:32 pm

It really sucks that this isn’t Mac compatible. I have PCs around, but it’s just inconvenient.

PPC Ian May 21, 2010 at 2:26 pm

As a corporate PPC Director, I’m constantly evaluating tools to help my team be more productive. This looks like a great one, thx for sharing!

Email List Building May 21, 2010 at 2:50 pm

Hi Michael, John,

It sounds like a good tool but again it won’t work on Mac.

When will the developers learn that not everybody wants to use PC?

They should make it web based. Otherwise a monthly and yearly charge doesn’t make sense.

Vance

d3so May 21, 2010 at 5:50 pm

I agree, it shouldve been web-based. I suppose the reason why it’s windows only is because the majority of people in general use windows :P that’s why I’m versatile enough to use both OSs.

Ricky May 25, 2010 at 9:58 pm

Hey Vance

This is Ricky from KeywordCountry.com. We are working on a version that can work on MAC and will be out with one soon…

Best Regards

That was pretty positive. I like this tool. If I could buy it I would, it would definitely make my life easier.

Khai M. May 21, 2010 at 3:51 pm

Hi Michael, Interesting software reviews. Hope I can own it one day =)

d3so May 21, 2010 at 5:46 pm

Nice list of apps included in the tool.
I might just try this out since they offer a free trial :)
Thanks for sharing!

PDA Break May 21, 2010 at 7:30 pm

I would try this tool, but I have too many other tools that I use already

Irish Garden Home May 23, 2010 at 9:28 am

It is not important how many tools you have, better one that you know well, then dozens that just sit on your hard drive – and cost you money, SY

Lakhyajyoti May 21, 2010 at 8:15 pm

That’s new for me.surely give a try.BWN nice tool with great application.

Yasagun K. Michi May 22, 2010 at 12:31 am

You always come with a solution John…
Thanks for sharing this tool. Nice to try this keywords tool…

They’ll need to address the lack of Mac support as this will significantly reduce their market. Internet marketers are a bunch of Mac fanatics. And then it would be nice to see what they offer that is really new. What exactly makes their software special as opposed to other offerings out there?

Irish Garden Home May 22, 2010 at 12:42 am

Very good questions, from the review I can’t see anything that this tool does that Market Samurai doesn’t do also and Market Samurai runs on a Mac as well as on a PC, all for one single price, no subscription and lifetime updates included, SY

Internet Marketing Course May 25, 2010 at 11:58 am

SEO Results: yeah, that’s what I was saying. I think mac support is a must with the # of internet marketers using mac these days.

Irish Home Garden: Awesome, that does sound like a better deal, I’ve never used Market Samurai but I’m going to check it out.

Ricky May 25, 2010 at 10:03 pm

I am Ricky from KeywordCountry.com.

Internet Marketing Course June 5, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Hey Ricky, I’m curious – do you plan on having a Mac (or online) version of the app available anytime soon? I’d love to try it out but I only have a Mac available. Thanks!

Ricky June 9, 2010 at 1:15 am

We are trying hard to get a Mac version out asap.

BStearns May 22, 2010 at 9:14 am

Hey Jon. Thanks a lot for this rev1iew, I’ll definitely check this out! Keep up the awesome work

Free Picks May 22, 2010 at 9:40 am

Thanks for the info John, but its to expensive for newbies

SEO Results May 23, 2010 at 3:42 am

The Google Keyword Tool is free and pretty good. Then you should download SEO Quake for Firefox or Chrome, this will enable you to check all kinds of SEO parameters on competitors wesites. All for free, and very effective once you get au fait with what is required.

derek May 23, 2010 at 6:37 am

I have been using Keyword Country for about 5 months now.

If your skeptical about it, they even will give you a free trial for a week. I don’t know what I’d do without that tool, I use it on a daily basis.

Mike Saf May 23, 2010 at 12:46 pm

Great tool, worth a try. I will probably not buy as I would rather pay a one time fee for a good package.

agence web May 24, 2010 at 8:50 am

Thanks for the info. interesting software.

Internet Marketing Course May 25, 2010 at 11:55 am

Ah, you had me all excited until no Mac support. Boo! :) Seriously, 5 years ago I would have understood, but now-a-days, a very large percentage of savvy web users are on Mac. I think it’s a must.

Anyways, I was about to sign up, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a complete package of different apps like this one.

Muebles May 26, 2010 at 4:51 am

Nice tool, thanks for the info

Ary July 9, 2010 at 7:56 pm

I’m going to try the free demo, buying it without using it myself, might be a real bad idea, and money consuming.
