suzeYou know why I love Twitter so much? It’s not just for the relationship building and keeping up with people I’m interested in. Many times, you will get some great information about breaking news and offers. For example, while at lunch, I received a tweet from @moneycoach with a link to download Suze Orman’s 2009 Action Plan for free.

The 227 page book, which normally sells for $10 through Amazon, covers everything from credit, savings, and spending to retirement, paying for college, and real estate. The book is available from Oprah.com for free with no strings attached. Well, there is a string. The free download is available between now and January 15 only. After the January 15, it will no longer be available.

I don’t agree with many things that Suze says, but she does teach some mostly sound financial principles. The book is worth the download (you can’t beat the price) and should make for a nice weekend read.

Download Suze Orman’s 2009 Action Plan Link expires at 11:59 p.m. CT on Thursday, January 15.

Thankyou for the link. I am downloading it now

Well coming this late to party, must say that not only keeping up Twitter but also keeping up on blog posts is important. Missed the book download.

Also, playing catch-up, missed some good contests.

Now I have finished and I must say that this one is good one and taught me some good lessons as well. Thats why I like book because with the help of this you can learn so much with little spend of time.

Just started reading that looks some interesting stuff in it thanks alot for sharing

@Zk

I can't agree with everything she says but I must add I share some ideas of hers. There is something good in everything we see and hear.

Good timing with the financial crisis. I am a huge fan of Suze Orman. Thanks for the heads up John.

The wifey and I watch her sometimes on Saturday night and while she can be abrasive and, I think, a bit of a man-basher, she does make some good points. But like with everything else, it is always good to balance her advice with another financial expert's advice. I tend to favor watching On The Money (also on the same channel as Orman's) which is more balance and informative, I find.

Lol guess what.. I just read a book from Suze Orman at the library today and here I am reading this very same name on john chow dot com. Weird..

Great that you spotted that out John! I was trying to get it last year for my partner. Can't wait to dig into it too!

I watch her show all the time. She teaches great financial info. Great post john

Thanks for the ebook!

I wouldn't take advice from Suze Orman if you paid me... no thanks!

What's your reason for that?

Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for the eBook, buddy.

I guess her book might be useful if one ran out of toilet paper.

Thanks for the download link John :)

Yes,
Suze is annoying and insane looking...
The only thing that saves her is that she manages to smile when she has that Lizzy Borden look on her face...I'm trying to aquire this skill...
Another annoying Suzy clone is someone named Lorel Langemeier. Look our for this loudmouth.

By the way, Could we please refer to Oprah as Orca...
(I'm being kind of nice...)

I don't think she looks like a serial killer. WTF?

I love a freebie, saving money is making money and I will also post it on my blog for others to take advantage of this great offer. I just saw her on Anderson Cooper last night. I read one of her books for college it was great. Thanks for the link. Greg Ellison

Watched that Oprah show and downloaded it already. I've read most of her books. However, one thing I don't agree with her on is paying off your mortgage even though I don't carry a mortgage at this time. If you go to buy a new home and have 20% to put down on it plus a chunk of change leftover, and you can invest it and get a better return than the interest rate on your house (tough, I know in the current environment), wouldn't you be better off NOT putting everything you have towards the price of the home? Many financial "gurus" disagree with Suze on this point.

Great point Melissa...I've always remembered the concept of opportunity cost when making those types of decisions in life. In addition, when we think logically about these types of typical issues, it allows us to remove our emotions from the equation. At that point, it doesn't matter what society "thinks" you should do, but rather what was the absolute best financial decision for your given situation.

Thanks JC. Just also curious what things on which you disagree with Suze. Agree with the comments above from others that she is rather bold and abrasive. However, I don't think a more mild mannered and blase personality would be able to A) Capture and keep the wider audience's attention span on TV and B) Be able to quickly and easily slice through a variety of people's financial problems (i.e. smackdown). Would you rather see someone be coddled when they know they are buying more than they can spend on ridiculous items?

Very nice find. I will have to check it out, and see if I agree with everything or at least some of the things she has to say.

Thank you so much John!
It's a good deal!

Seen her on TV, have heard about her books, but never really been interested in picking one up. Will definitely download and see what Suze gotta say. Thanks for sharing!

What are 3 things you don't agree with? Better yet ... why?

Thanks, John! :)

I have seen her at lot on TV. She has some great tips on saving money.

I just saw this book at Sam's Club tonight and thought about picking it up. Thanks for the free download!
