Happy 4th of July Everyone!

I like to wish all my American readers a happy 4th of July. Last year, I celebrated US Independence Day in Bellevue, WA. This year, I’m celebrating it in the OC. There’s quite a difference to the way the two communities do their 4th of July celebration. This has more to do with the fact that when I was Bellevue, I was living in the Yarrow Point.

Yarrow Point is part of the Points Community and it’s where Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer lives. As a result, there was a huge game of rich neighbors trying to one up each other.

By comparison, the 4th of July celebration for the OC community of Woodbridge was pretty tame. However, it was every bit as fun and in many ways, better. When I was living in Yarrow Point, I didn’t know who my neighbors were because the houses are spreaded far apart from each other. My driveway was quarter mile long.

The OC 4th of July celebration had many activities. The main one was a parade that the entire community participated in. Sally had a great time doing that. The other big event was the evening fireworks. My wife invited a handful of friends over to watch it. Then her friends invited some friends and next thing you know, we had 60 people showed up! Good thing, my wife is an excellent party planner! Overall, a pretty great day.
