Happy New Year 2008!
written by John Chow

I like to wish all John Chow dot Com readers a very Happy New Year! I know for many of you, it’s New Year already but I’m on the west coast so we’re always last to the party.
If 2007 was any indication, 2008 is going to another banner year and I can’t wait to see how it will all unfold. If you didn’t achieve what you hoped for in 2007, take heart. A new year means a new beginning. Make a commitment to yourself and make this year your year. State your goals and write it down. Remember to reward every success no matter how small. Most of all, have fun! If you’re not having fun, then it’s not worth doing.
Good bye 2007, hello 2008! Happy New Year everyone!
By the way, the cigar is just for looks. I don’t smoke and neither should you. If you do smoke, then I recommend you make a New Year’s resolution to quit.

BTW, I quit smoking 22 years ago - it was the hardest thing I ever did (and i was a single mom!).
It took me two years to quit!
I’m glad you don’t smoke and that you suggested that others don’t either. It’s the single most worst thing you can do to your health!
To the New Year!

Not to mention the damage smoking does to your finances. Cigs are about $5 a pack here in Michigan. I don’t know how people can afford not to quit.
Smoking is bad, but people don’t smoke cigars every day.
Yeah, I enjoy a good cigar every now and then and while it’s not good for me, it’s also not as bas as smoking cigarettes on a regular basis. Cheaper too
True. I hate the taste of Cigars though.
Happy New Year to you too. Thank god i have quit smoking three years ago. and my health is so different compare to while smoking. advise anyone to enjoy real life they should smoking. smoking just make us weak. looking forward for this year. so all the best to you and your readers.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!
John,
Nor leave you addicted. As a former cigarette smoker and now a cigar smoker I can speak from experience on that. I can go months without cigars. They are one of my favorite ways to unwind at the end of a hectic day though. Cigarettes are a nicotine delivery system and thats it. Alright I’m getting off my soap box now. Thanks for the great information over the past year, your site has been an inspiration to me and trying to push the envelope with my own site.
An occasional cigar won’t kill you.
Never understood why people get so exited about the new years day. Some people may be under the impression that new year was created by God; no folks it is a man made ritual and so far as nature is concerned it’s just another day. The good thing is that it’s a holiday!! Of course, it’s designated by men, not nature, as a holiday.
Good grief! Lighten up. Holidays are all designated by men because guess what… that’s what we are! Celebrating the passage of time is an old tradition and I think it’s a good idea to sort of start again every year.
Holidays are nothing more than concoctions created by Hallmark and other companies to cash in on your hard earned money!
Have a Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!
It’s a horrible addiction.
You’re right about not smoking, I quit smoking cigarettes (again) just over a year ago and I miss it everyday.
