Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

written by John Chow on November 27th, 2008

Today is Thanksgiving in America. I always remember the date of the U.S. Thanksgiving because it’s always held on the day before Black Friday. While this year’s Black Friday may not be so black, we can all take some time to give thanks to the many things we are thankful for.

I am thankful to my parents for having the courage to leave everything they had behind in order to come to a country so their children could have a life. I’m thankful to my friends online and offline. I’m thankful to my wife, who is the biggest reason for my success. Without her, I wouldn’t be close to where I am today. I’m thankful to my readers for their great support. Without you guys, the blog would still be here but it wouldn’t be anywhere near as fun. I’m thankful for a bunch of other stuff, but if I keep going, this post will end up being a mile long. So, I’ll stop now and leave you with a quote from Neil Maxwell.

“We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count.”

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

  1. Yeah, it’s good to have days like these, because we can sit back and just think about things that are important to us. In the daily rush, we just forget these things – how much we love our parents, our girlfriends/wives, children, friends and all other things that are making our lives better in any way.

    Happy thanksgiving day everyone !

    Cheers,

    The Moneyac

  2. I wish we had thanksgiving in Australia. I love the idea of a day dedicated to stopping and thinking about what we are thankful for.

    • I come from North Europe – Latvia, and we also have Thanksgiving day here, but only it’s called different.

      Cheers,

    • I never knew Australia didn’t have thanksgiving! Hehe, we don’t have it here as well.

Anyways, happy thanksgiving everyone! @John, that’s a really great quote you used there, fits the occasion!

    • We don’t have thanksgiving in the Uk either but inspired by all the people that I follow online from the US I decided to write down a list of 10 things that I am personally thankful for in my life.

Feeling all warm and fluffy I also decided to donate a small amount of what I could afford to charity. You don’t need the official day to take a moment and really feel the thanks for what you have in your life. Be inspired and live thanksgiving within ;)
