How Internet Marketing Is Like Getting A Massage

Ever got a massage? If not, why even go on living? OK all joking aside, they ARE great, especially for some much needed stress relief and relieving muscles that have been sitting behind a computer for hours on end.

But I’m not here to talk about massages. I’d rather simply get them than be talking about them. I want to talk about the three types of people that get massages, and how it ties into us as Internet marketers and Home Business owners.

Person 1: The Immediate Ahhh!!! client

The masseuse simply touches their back, and at the very first touch of any discomfort or pain and they’re screaming at the top of their lungs.. “Ahhh!! Ouch!! Not so hard!!” Pansies.

Person 2: The Delayed Ahhh!!!

This person is OK at first. But there is always the inevitable spot on a persons back that is more sore, more sensitive than anywhere else. And once the masseuse hit’s that spot, oh boy, you’d think that all hell has broke loose.

“Ouch… ouch… ouch! I’m begging, no more!!” Then we’ve got…

Person 3: We’ll Call Them, Well, Awesome

They’ve got the same problems, the same backaches and *pain spots* and when the masseuse lays down the law, they can feel the pain laying down in them HARD. But instead, they just sort of hold their breath in a bit. They take it like a man.

Why?

Well they say to themselves “This hurts incredibly bad, it’s painful and uncomfortable, BUT, I know it’s good for me. I know it’s exactly what I need and will help me in the long run. So I’m going to hold my breath and get through this!”

How This Compare To Internet Marketing

Most people fall into category one and two. The first pain, the first failure, the first struggle, and they’re squealing like a pig at the slaughter house.

  • I’ve got to build a list? Ouch!! Ah!!!
  • I need to write emails and give away value? Ahhh!!!
  • I need to spend money to make money? Ouwee!!
  • It’s not get rich quick? Noooo morrrrrrre painnnn!!

Now, the winners reside at number three, and that’s where you and I need to be. How? Expect the pain and love it. Don’t whine when you figure out you’ve got to actually DO something in order to make money.

In fact, the more you do, the more value you give, the more you will succeed. It’s sort of the way the world weeds out the tire-kickers and those not ready for success. The successful hit a wall, they go get a rope and rappel over it.

One moves forward. The other halts and moves back. Your choice.
