How To Create Higher Page Ranking

When WebProNews call me to talk about SEO and web directories, I never thought it would be part of a video on how to create higher page rankings. Had I known the phone call was being taped, I would have tried my damnest to flirt with the female interviewer. It would be funny to see if they air it.

The video talked with Eric Dytzel from about a blog posting called β€œHow I Went from 600 to 14 on Google in 100 Days.” He discusses the tips he found while researching Search Engine Optimization. Aaron Wall from is also featured and gave some great optimization tips. I was used for the 30 second sound bite on directories and linking strategies.

  2. Word Hugger says:

Good press. Hope it sends you lots of traffic.

    1. WarriorBlog says:

It will, who doesn’t like to watch video these days? πŸ˜‰

    2. He sure will. I already saw that video before he posted it (yeah newsletter from webpronews). It is a short but nice video, sort of entertainment

    3. I think John has enough traffic it just makes him even stronger.

  3. I see a lot of other people making videos of Mr. John Chow.

How about you create your own videos to mix it up a bit?

    1. WarriorBlog says:

I didn’t know other people were making the video for him πŸ™

  4. Ebay_Tips says:

  5. Stephen says:

Definitely great video on SEO tips and hopefully bring more exposure to the site.

  6. More publicity for you, well done πŸ™‚

Although I have to agree with the pingback, in terms of there being more qualified people for that interview….but hey you’re just doing what you do best…getting publicity and then getting paid πŸ™‚

    1. I was wondering this, do these TV shows pay you or are you just happy for the publicity, just curious?

  7. Simon says:

Great! John you are on video again!

  8. Darin Carter says:

    Man … exposure, exposure, exposure!

  9. Does this mean I can write and eBook since I went from unindexed to number 52 in less than a week? I’ll probably be top 10 next week, woo!

  10. Nothing really new here. Solid advice for the novices though.

  11. Hey John,

I just wrote a little post about you. There’s a running poll on my blog to see if your fans would like to select you to be part of the movie. The winner will have a chance to be featured in Blogging the Movie. You’re up against Shoemoney, Dosh Dosh, and Problogger.

    1. Scoot says:

      Here’s my vote for John.

    2. WarriorBlog says:

Hmmm, I am not sure if people will want to watch a video about blogging… πŸ™„

  12. Collin says:

Man when your on a role your on a role eh. Its cool to see though where you can all go with a great blog.

  13. Aren’t you married, why are you flirting with other women? πŸ˜† πŸ˜‰ πŸ™„

    1. John Chow says:

      To spice up the interview?

      1. Flirting makes the world go around. I’m happily married but will still likely spend more money on a nice flirty advertising partner πŸ˜€

      2. WarriorBlog says:

Ok that a strange answer 😯

    2. He wouldnt be a man without flirting… but he wasnt… πŸ˜•

Do you have any advice about when the best time to submit a digg article? Thanks in advance

    1. Alan Hollis says:

oops wrote this under the wrong post irrelevant question for the topic. Sorry πŸ™‚

  19. Looking Good John.

Today on my blog I wrote about laws of attraction and gave another link back to your site

    content is the king

  22. Shaun Carter says:

You mention that they didn’t tell you that your phone conversation was being recorded. Doesn’t it bother you that they recorded the conversation without your permission? I mean suppose they didn’t use it for a good purpose.

  23. Boy are you good at having your name all over the place. Someone should write a book on your blogging career. Tips, tricks and techniques.

  24. Rob says:

Nice Interview John. But not telling you the phone conversation was recorded is πŸ‘Ώ

  25. the everyday stuff we read on blogs but there were a couple of new things I learned 😎

  26. WarriorBlog says:

Video is big right now and there is a lot of traffic to be made with them. Use Youtube!

  27. So did they tell you in the end that it was recorded and if it can be used?

  28. Klaudio says:

nice tips! and have fun with your traffic πŸ™‚

  29. Wahlau.NET says:

don’t they tell you when the phone call is recorded?

  30. Thanks for the tips. Some of these I already knew. I’m going to implement them and see what it does to my traffic.

  31. SpeedyVista says:

Decent interview, but some of the stuff I just find funny. I’m not a fan of press releases for just a startup type site. It is really just cheesy.

You got screwed on your soundbyte though.. too short and they probably only took the basics.. either that or you didnt share much πŸ™‚

I wish Aaron can give some other payment processors and give me a chance to buy his e-book. Have heard many good things about it and I really respect his point of views about SEO, he knows what he is talking about.
