How To Create Higher Page Ranking

written by John Chow on September 12, 2007

How to make $593 in less than one hour

When WebProNews call me to talk about SEO and web directories, I never thought it would be part of a video on how to create higher page rankings. Had I known the phone call was being taped, I would have tried my damnest to flirt with the female interviewer. It would be funny to see if they air it.

The video talked with Eric Dytzel from NoviceSEO.com about a blog posting called “How I Went from 600 to 14 on Google in 100 Days.” He discusses the tips he found while researching Search Engine Optimization. Aaron Wall from SEOBook.com is also featured and gave some great optimization tips. I was used for the 30 second sound bite on directories and linking strategies.

Word Hugger September 12, 2007 at 3:16 pm

Good press. Hope it sends you lots of traffic.

WarriorBlog September 13, 2007 at 8:42 am

It will, who doesn’t like to watch video these days?

SEO Optimization September 13, 2007 at 9:06 am

He sure will. I already saw that video before he posted it (yeah newsletter from webpronews). It is a short but nice video, sort of entertainment

Webmaster Money September 13, 2007 at 12:15 pm

I think John has enough traffic it just makes him even stronger.

Carl Zetterlund September 12, 2007 at 3:16 pm

I see a lot of other people making videos of Mr. John Chow.

How about you create your own videos to mix it up a bit?

:)

WarriorBlog September 13, 2007 at 8:37 am

I didn’t know other people were making the video for him
Lucky…

Ebay_Tips September 12, 2007 at 3:34 pm

Quality. I like it.

Stephen September 12, 2007 at 4:10 pm

Definitely great video on SEO tips and hopefully bring more exposure to the site.

Hamilton Ontario Web Design September 12, 2007 at 4:30 pm

More publicity for you, well done :)

Although I have to agree with the pingback, in terms of there being more qualified people for that interview….but hey you’re just doing what you do best…getting publicity and then getting paid :)

Making The Money September 12, 2007 at 11:26 pm

I was wondering this, do these TV shows pay you or are you just happy for the publicity, just curious?

Simon September 12, 2007 at 4:32 pm

Great! John you are on video again!

Chris Jacobson September 12, 2007 at 4:52 pm

Does this mean I can write and eBook since I went from unindexed to number 52 in less than a week? I’ll probably be top 10 next week, woo!

Jaan Kanellis September 12, 2007 at 5:32 pm

Nothing really new here. Solid advice for the novices though.

Blogging The Movie September 12, 2007 at 5:41 pm

Hey John,

I just wrote a little post about you. There’s a running poll on my blog to see if your fans would like to select you to be part of the movie. The winner will have a chance to be featured in Blogging the Movie. You’re up against Shoemoney, Dosh Dosh, and Problogger.

WarriorBlog September 13, 2007 at 8:38 am

Collin September 12, 2007 at 5:48 pm

the Dev Network September 12, 2007 at 6:16 pm

Aren’t you married, why are you flirting with other women?

John Chow September 12, 2007 at 7:24 pm

To spice up the interview?

Making The Money September 12, 2007 at 11:28 pm

Flirting makes the world go around. I’m happily married but will still likely spend more money on a nice flirty advertising partner

WarriorBlog September 13, 2007 at 8:41 am

Ok that a strange answer

Webmaster Money September 13, 2007 at 12:17 pm

He wouldnt be a man without flirting… but he wasnt… :???:

max September 12, 2007 at 7:04 pm

Pretty basic stuff, still good to listen to though

YC September 12, 2007 at 10:42 pm

Nothing new here but I guess it’s not that important for the featured bloggers  great job John!

Alan Hollis September 12, 2007 at 11:13 pm

John…

Do you have any advice about when the best time to submit a digg article? Thanks in advance

Alan

Alan Hollis September 12, 2007 at 11:18 pm

oops wrote this under the wrong post irrelevant question for the topic. Sorry :)

Colin Klinkert September 12, 2007 at 11:13 pm

Looking Good John.

Today on my blog I wrote about laws of attraction and gave another link back to your site

Gary @ Melt Your Body Fat September 13, 2007 at 2:27 am

Great tips and great web sites that I never knew about. Lot’s to explore and experiment with, especially for a blog newbie like me. Excellent post. Thanks John.

Endy September 13, 2007 at 4:39 am

content is the king

Shaun Carter September 13, 2007 at 6:13 am

You mention that they didn’t tell you that your phone conversation was being recorded. Doesn’t it bother you that they recorded the conversation without your permission? I mean suppose they didn’t use it for a good purpose.

Home Recording September 13, 2007 at 7:09 am

Boy are you good at having your name all over the place. Someone should write a book on your blogging career. Tips, tricks and techniques.

Rob September 13, 2007 at 7:48 am

Nice Interview John. But not telling you the phone conversation was recorded is

Richard Miller September 13, 2007 at 8:04 am

the everyday stuff we read on blogs but there were a couple of new things I learned

WarriorBlog September 13, 2007 at 8:32 am

Video is big right now and there is a lot of traffic to be made with them. Use Youtube!

Webmaster Money September 13, 2007 at 12:18 pm

So did they tell you in the end that it was recorded and if it can be used?

Klaudio September 13, 2007 at 12:58 pm

nice tips! and have fun with your traffic

Wahlau.NET September 13, 2007 at 7:47 pm

don’t they tell you when the phone call is recorded?

FireSnake Designs Apparel September 14, 2007 at 1:50 pm

Thanks for the tips. Some of these I already knew. I’m going to implement them and see what it does to my traffic.

SpeedyVista September 14, 2007 at 2:27 pm

Decent interview, but some of the stuff I just find funny. I’m not a fan of press releases for just a startup type site. It is really just cheesy.

You got screwed on your soundbyte though.. too short and they probably only took the basics.. either that or you didnt share much :)

Googlelady September 16, 2007 at 6:51 pm

I wish Aaron can give some other payment processors and give me a chance to buy his e-book. Have heard many good things about it and I really respect his point of views about SEO, he knows what he is talking about.
