Last night we went to check out the grand final of the HSBC Celerbration of Lights fireworks display. This yearly competition pits three countries against each other in a pyro-musical displays that puts new meaning to the terms “oh” and “ah.”
The four day event attracts an estimated 1.4 million people to the Vancouver beaches. The best place to watch is from English Bay. However, unless you get there four to five hours before the fireworks starts, you’re going to have a hard time finding a good viewing spot. Fortunately for us, Sarah has a friend who has a condo on Beach Avenue that offers a fantastic viewing spot. The other advantage of watching from the condo is we can watch TV, eat or surf the net while waiting for the pyro to begin.
The grand final has all three countries (Spain, Canada and China) taking part. Each country gets six minutes to show off their stuff and then everyone blow whatever is left in the last six minutes. It’s a lot of fun to watch. Enjoy the pictures and video.

Because of the technology barrier, many would-be bloggers never start their blogs...
