It seems that Shanghai is so big that one zoo isn’t enough. The Shanghai Wild Animal Park doesn’t have as much animal as the Shanghai Zoo but it’s almost as big. Unlike the Shanghai Zoo, the Shanghai Wild Animal Park doesn’t keep all the animals in cages. Most run free in fenced off park areas. This gives the animals a lot more space to roam around and be like normal wild animals.
You travel through the park in tour buses and observe the animals as they do what animals do, which most of the time, is nothing. Other sections of the park are viewed on foot or tram cars. That’s where they keep the non-dangerous animals. There’s also an animal show and a amusement park with rides and a big ferris wheel.
