Hunting Pandas At The Shanghai Zoo
written by John Chow on May 15th, 2008
Today, we headed to the Shanghai Zoo to look for any pandas that may have survived the great rock fight of China. The Shanghai Zoo is an order of magnitude times bigger than the zoo back home at Stanley Park. The zoo is so big that they have cars to drive people from one exhibit to the next.
The Shanghai Zoo is home to hundreds of animals. Pretty much every animal you can think of is here. However, there was only one animal I was interested in. After all, we have unfinished business.

Reply to this commentGreat video, John!
Reply to this commentthat seems pretty awesome! It must be a great experience to see Panda’s in Shanghai. Different then America of course, since Panda’s are brought here from there.
Reply to this commentIf only our zoo was that cool (yea someone stole a monkey and another one got killed..) though I heard rumours they are getting rid of the animals that do not belong in a north america climate (ie rhino, giraffe, lions, tigers etc)
Reply to this commentI am glad that you didn’t find the remaining Panda’s… we atleast know that they are safe (for now!). I think the Shanghai Zoo received an anonymous call asking them to hide the panda’s from you.
And just so you know… wait till the 6th of June…
Then Kung Fu Panda is gonna show you what it feels like to mess with endangered species.
Reply to this commentNice………….
Reply to this commentGreat video!
Reply to this commentPanda…..did you see small panda? They are cute. But when they grow bigger , they become dangerous. So…..can see cannot touch.
Reply to this commentAre pandas that dangerous?
Reply to this commentThey have a cute and cuddly appearance to lure you in so you try to hug them and then they ATTACK

and maybe eat your brains to … Zombie Pandas are the most dangerous
Reply to this commentWhat a great place to visit. I love nature. When I went to Brazil in the beginning of this year I took so many pictures from the nature. Maybe Brazil should be the next place you visit.
Reply to this commentThe SH zoo looks pretty nice.
Reply to this commentwhose hand was that taking the video? Very shakey!
Reply to this commentHi, John! You should go to Chengdu Panda Breeding & Research Center.
Reply to this commentI think they’re just hiding the Pandas from you. I think they know who you are and they knew about this trip.
Reply to this commentYep … a conspiration
Reply to this commentSince when is there a zoo in Stanley Park? I though the main “Vancouver” Zoo was in Abbotsford or Langley… But I’m pretty sure the Shanghai zoo is still bigger.
Reply to this commentI was in that ZOO last year, when Special Olympics took place.
Nice ZOO thought!
btw, nice video.
Reply to this commentI’ve heard about how big the Shanghai zoo is. I sure would like to see it.
Reply to this commentHey! Who killed all the Pandas?
Reply to this commentVery nice video John! Looks like you enjoy in Shanghai
Reply to this commentWho would have known - monkeys are good at catching things
Reply to this commentI thought the comment about what the turtles were eating was appropriate.
Reply to this commentYeah. It’s probably cardboard. Good enough for human consumption in pork buns, good enough for the turtles.
Reply to this commentJohn, thanks for sharing your trip adventures with us!
Reply to this commentNice video update of your trip! Looks like you had a great time in SH!
Reply to this commentWhat happened to the elephant’s tusks?
Reply to this commentI think if John and the Pandas were to get in a fight, the pandas would most definitely win. They have a bit more of a reputation for killing things lol.
