Hunting Pandas At The Shanghai Zoo

written by John Chow on May 15, 2008

Make money with YouTube

Today, we headed to the Shanghai Zoo to look for any pandas that may have survived the great rock fight of China. The Shanghai Zoo is an order of magnitude times bigger than the zoo back home at Stanley Park. The zoo is so big that they have cars to drive people from one exhibit to the next.

The Shanghai Zoo is home to hundreds of animals. Pretty much every animal you can think of is here. However, there was only one animal I was interested in. After all, we have unfinished business.

Great video, John!

that seems pretty awesome! It must be a great experience to see Panda’s in Shanghai. Different then America of course, since Panda’s are brought here from there.

Tyler Ingram May 15, 2008 at 7:18 am

If only our zoo was that cool (yea someone stole a monkey and another one got killed..) though I heard rumours they are getting rid of the animals that do not belong in a north america climate (ie rhino, giraffe, lions, tigers etc)

I am glad that you didn’t find the remaining Panda’s… we atleast know that they are safe (for now!). I think the Shanghai Zoo received an anonymous call asking them to hide the panda’s from you.

And just so you know… wait till the 6th of June…

Then Kung Fu Panda is gonna show you what it feels like to mess with endangered species.

Great video!

Panda…..did you see small panda? They are cute. But when they grow bigger , they become dangerous. So…..can see cannot touch.

Flimjo May 15, 2008 at 12:55 pm

Are pandas that dangerous?

Terry Tay May 16, 2008 at 2:03 pm

They have a cute and cuddly appearance to lure you in so you try to hug them and then they ATTACK

What a great place to visit. I love nature. When I went to Brazil in the beginning of this year I took so many pictures from the nature. Maybe Brazil should be the next place you visit.

The SH zoo looks pretty nice.

Eric Go May 15, 2008 at 8:40 am

whose hand was that taking the video? Very shakey!

logosamurai May 15, 2008 at 8:45 am

Hi, John! You should go to Chengdu Panda Breeding & Research Center.

I think they’re just hiding the Pandas from you. I think they know who you are and they knew about this trip.

Sava May 17, 2008 at 1:32 am

Yep … a conspiration

Karol Krizka May 15, 2008 at 9:21 am

Since when is there a zoo in Stanley Park? I though the main “Vancouver” Zoo was in Abbotsford or Langley… But I’m pretty sure the Shanghai zoo is still bigger. :P

Yuwie money May 15, 2008 at 9:38 am

I was in that ZOO last year, when Special Olympics took place.
Nice ZOO thought! ;)

btw, nice video.

I’ve heard about how big the Shanghai zoo is. I sure would like to see it.

Stephen May 15, 2008 at 10:54 am

Hey! Who killed all the Pandas?

Bash Bosh May 15, 2008 at 10:57 am

Financial Jesus May 15, 2008 at 11:17 am

Who would have known – monkeys are good at catching things

Conservatives and Normals May 15, 2008 at 11:29 am

I thought the comment about what the turtles were eating was appropriate.

Stephen May 15, 2008 at 4:23 pm

Yeah. It’s probably cardboard. Good enough for human consumption in pork buns, good enough for the turtles.

Go2Wellington May 15, 2008 at 12:20 pm

John, thanks for sharing your trip adventures with us!

Nice video update of your trip! Looks like you had a great time in SH!

Joe May 15, 2008 at 4:47 pm

What happened to the elephant’s tusks?

Cronus May 15, 2008 at 4:58 pm

I think if John and the Pandas were to get in a fight, the pandas would most definitely win. They have a bit more of a reputation for killing things lol.
