I Am The Number 2 Make Money Online Blog
Mark at 45n5 sent me an email about his latest piece of linkbait, the Top 100 Make Money Online Blogs. I have to admit, Mark is getting pretty good at this baiting stuff.
The 45n5 Top 100 is a list of the top blogs that cover the topic of making money on the internet. Ranks are based on a combination of Google PageRank, Technorati rank and Alexa rating. I’m currently ranked number two, behind Problogger and ahead of Shoemoney.
While this is a top 100 list, there are only 73 sites listed. Mark is hoping more make money online blogs will add themselves to the list to bring the total to 100. Mark lists the benefits the Top 100 offers for readers, bloggers and advertisers. However, he didn’t list the one evil benefit the list offers for bloggers. The Top 100 is a nice mailing list to send your spam news to.

Congrats John, it was no doubt you were suppose to sit on that list. The thing is that others don’t display publicly their earnings…maybe thats their only resource of earnings so it is more than normal not to display them.

John is very close to problogger.
Maybe number wise,but problogger tends to write more better articles on the subject though problogger is strictly a one area blog while jc.com is more about jc
Yeah, I agree. The two blogs are quite different. JC is more of a personal blog with a healthy dose of online marketing stuff (like ShoeMoney) whereas ProBlogger is all business
Both approaches have their merits imo.
john has more evil in him
Personally, I find John Chow’s blog to be much more informative than Problogger. In fact, for me, Problogger is boring and rather uninformative, and the writing style does nothing to grip the audience.
And it’s not updated as often

Note that the metrics to rank the blogs will get better with time, I had to start somewhere.

I think this is a great list that really needed to be put out. I’m sure it will serve and an invaluable tool to many newbies!
There are a few on there that I’ve not visited but will now, great link bait and also worth a submission for us make money bloggers.

Actually, I like your layout more compared to Problogger because you have the original “chronological post sequence” feature of a blog.
Problogger is not that readable now compared to its previous layout, imo.
Yeah, it takes some getting used to, that is for sure. It is much more like a news or e-magazine site now. Not that this is a bad thing.

Great achievement. “John Chow” is now kind of a synonym for “Make Money online”.
Great list, I am just starting out with this make money blogging thing. It’s early day’s and my first months profits were no where near that of John’s but I am making a start. Maybe it will take a few years to emulate the success of this blog rather than the year it has taken Mr John.

I have heard a lot about your site in various forums and it seems even more intresting that you are the number 2 in making money too.I would love a post about how you made it to top. Becz one thing is there that you have contents that are eye catching and terrific but that itself doesn’t make it top.
