In The February Issue of Entrepreneur Magazine
I am featured in the February issue of Entrepreneur magazine. You should be able to find it at your local newsstands now. My article is on page 52. Thanks goes out to Eten Blog and Image Gag for providing me with scans of the article.
Being featured by Entrepreneur is indeed an honor and represents my first ever international tier 1 magazine coverage. The value this will add to my brand is immeasurable. Mike Hogan did a great job on the article and summed up what I’m all about perfectly.
His blog remains a somewhat banal combination of his money count and what he had for lunch–the blogging equivalent of Seinfeld, the show “about nothing.”
The article reveals more information than I really wanted to give. However, it was required in order to get the interview. If you want to know how to get a major magazine or newspaper to tell your story, then check out my post on How To Get Old World Media Coverage.
Head down to your local newsstand and pick up an issue or read it online.

Congrats John! I’ll pick up a copy this afternoon.
Reply to this commentCongrats John! I am going to the bookstore right now!
Reply to this commentGrande John, more grease to your elbows
Reply to this commentYeah, this kind of recognition is kinda a big deal. Congrats.
Reply to this commentIts not “kinda a big deal” its a big deal. How many bloggers do you know featured in entrepreneur magazine
Reply to this commentI agree, it is something which basically shows everyone that John’s work is appreciated. Reaching this status wasn’t easy for him, but in the end, all of his efforts paid off.

Reply to this commentHey John, love the picture! I’ll have to go pick up a copy of the magazine at our local B&N when I get the chance. Congratulations.
Reply to this commentTrue that, the picture is great. It gives me the impression of something like “This is my own street” and “This is where i started from”
Reply to this commentThe whole work from home attitude. Great pic and good article.
Reply to this commentReally? I’m not a fan of the picture, because it just comes off looking so odd. Who, in their right mind, would be wheeling around in a driveway, sitting in their office chair? It just looks too artificial, too contrived.
Reply to this commentThe pic is kind artsy, sort of like the food that he blogs about. It definitely will get people’s attention rather that just seeing some guy sitting behind a desk.
Reply to this commentCongratulations, and the picture is great.
Reply to this commentcongrats!
Reply to this commentSo, you are making around $1 mil annually. Not bad.
Reply to this commenti seriously thought he was making more…
Reply to this commentI’d be happy with the $1 million though. Heck, I’d be happy with what he makes here at the blog.
Reply to this commentRemember TTZ Media is in its early stages therefore, when it starts to get an increase in publishers…he will see a nice rise.
Considering he runs a handful of sites its nice
Reply to this commentTTZ Media should do well, I’m starting to see it on more and more blogs.
Reply to this commentgreat job,congratulations.
Reply to this commentImpressive John. I envy your success!
Reply to this commentCongratz John! So if you blog for dollars, I blog for penny then
Reply to this commentPennies? Heck, I almost made a quarter yesterday!
But, we’re not supposed to talk about our failures, right? Just successes?
Okay, then, I made lots of pennies yesterday!
Reply to this commentNice work man!
Reply to this commentHi John
I never expected a linkback but am thankful for it. Thank you.
Reply to this commentJohn…you are seriously BIG-TIME NOW! Keep pushing yourself…keep up the incredible pace!
Reply to this commentHe will most likely not stop here and, personally, I see him achieving some more than worthwhile results with TTZMedia as well.

Reply to this commentWas bit surprised when I was flipping through and there you were. Congrats!
Reply to this commentYou can also read it on the entrepreneur.com site. I found the article by searching your name on the site. It just doesn’t have the great picture.
Reply to this commentI would never have guessed you were that old - maybe your next blog should be about keeping in shape!!

Reply to this commentCongrats John!
Reply to this commentAmazing article. Mike did a very good job. I especially like the “His blog is the equivalent of Seinfeld. Its about nothing.”.
Reply to this commentCongratulations John! Any chance you’ll be giving away any signed copies? I’m going to head out and buy a copy today.
Reply to this commentI was thinking the same thing. It would be nice to get a signed copy from John wouldn’t it. How about a contest for a few copies?
Reply to this commentGreat idea!
Reply to this commentcongrats on the article.
Reply to this commentKudos John, now watch that RSS subscriber count EXPLODE
Reply to this commentAwesome article. Congrats!
Reply to this commentJohn,
You mentioned in your post “The article reveals more information than I really wanted to give.”
I didn’t read anything in the article that you haven’t already told us except that you use over 100 ad networks. Is this what you are referring to?
Keep up the good work. You have inspired a lot of people to pursue their passion and make a living online.

Reply to this comment“Chow’s revenue streams are closing in on $1 million annually”
John has never said how much the TTZ makes, now we know its around $700,000 if the blog makes $300,000.
I too thought the TTZ was a bigger income source but a cool mill is nice by anyones standards. Keep that up for a few years and you’re sorted.
Reply to this commentHe revealed that he spends 5-10% on hosting. He got a server for $3,000/month therefore TTZ Media was making at least $60,000/month.
Reply to this commentNote: I got this information from an earlier blog post.
Reply to this commentWell this is only the beginning, TTZMedia has the potential bringing in a lot more in terms of profits and his income level for 2008 will most likely be far more impressive.

Reply to this commentCongratulations John, you deserve it.
Reply to this commentBut I’m wondering which information in the Article, you were replying to as being “to much”. I was looking for the bone in the article, but found most of the article, to be repeats of old stuff
“The article reveals more information than I really wanted to give.”
Now, there’s a hook!
Reply to this commentwow that’s so cool. nice read, but what was the info you didn’t want to share? I didn’t see anything too personal except your revenue.
Reply to this commentHe doesn’t make 1 mil annually.. John inflates his numbers immensly to get you to think he is more successful than he really is to get you to buy his stuff/click his ads to make him more money. HES USING ALL OF YOU.
Reply to this commentUsing your real name gives you credibility. Having an alias gives you a little less. Having no name at all, well…
Reply to this commentThanks for the mention John. Congrats again.
Reply to this commentCongratulations John
Reply to this commentCongrats John! You’re an inspiration
Reply to this commentHoly crap, John is 42?????

Reply to this commentLike there is something wrong with being 42?
Reply to this commentHey! We’re the same age?
Reply to this commentHe looks a lot younger than me!
Nah I just figured he was younger, like early 30s for some reason. Now I find out he’s an old fogie.

Reply to this commentJohn! Congratulations! Well done!
Reply to this commentCongratulations John on getting in the magazine
Reply to this commentThis is nothing short of awesome!
Reply to this commentIt was a great article that I read last week and am surprise that you did not know that you were featured in this article! Don’t they inform those they would be highlighting at publishing? It seems not .. but the tips were great and I have that article open at my desk since last 4 days. Had not visited your site before but am liking it a lot now !
Reply to this commentThanks for all your tips there is so much to learn from so many of you. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome. Ijust commented about this yesterday. The article is great!
Reply to this commentCongratulations John! That was a great opportunity for you and your blog!
Steve
Reply to this commentNice job… but who would’ve thought you were 42
I expect to see some good traffic here so not to be the advertising and marketing expert, I think John’s 125×125 banners is a prime spot to advertise at right now
Reply to this commentWith or without being featured in this article, advertising on this blog has always been prime online real estate. We are talking about 15k RSS subscribers to start with.
Reply to this commentExactly, while the fact that he has been featured will be great as far as branding is concerned, I doubt that we will see ad prices skyrocket as a result.

Reply to this commentHey Alan Johnson, I thought I’d only last a few minutes at the top there until you got in about 10 more comments. Is that all you do all day?
Reply to this commentMeanwhile, at the other end, I’m trying to hold my position at the bottom.
Reply to this commentCongrats John! That’s how I found your site. I wish you (and everyone else here
) a lot of continued success. I look forward to reading it everyday.

Reply to this commentNice job John, I actually picked up this article today and it was a great read. Keep up the good work.
Reply to this commentHey John,
Very nice indeed, how old are you by the way?
Reply to this commentCongrats!! Must feel good? : )
Reply to this commentWell - the picture is certainly different. I bet there were a few curtain twitchers in your street on that day.
Reply to this commentone day I am going to make that magazine too so look for me John Chow get the name Allen Johnson engraved in everyone minds because I am going to be one most popular internet icons
Reply to this commentWhen you get a site logo for JohnChow.com I see you on the cover of Maxim and Fortune Magazines next. I loaded you up on some test copies (Clicky for test copy image) and… lookin good! Go get em panda!
Reply to this commentHey John
The online article mis-spelled TTZ media as “TZZ” media network.
Reply to this commentSpotted the error at the last second paragraph where they mentioned TechZone.
Just being on page 53 of a credible publication is whats important, typos don’t matter much so long as they get his name and image right. This will look very nice in his trophy case and it is something that other bloggers can’t replicate easily.
Being recognized is the blogging stuff of legends, typos or not!
Reply to this commentThe quote and the pic are both great. Congratulations on the exposure. Perhaps you should celebrate by trying out another new dining location…..
Reply to this commentHow about have a connection with the editor or owner of the local magazine, does that help in getting a slot in the magazine !?

Reply to this commentCongratulations on this achievement John! Just read the online article and it was very well done.
Reply to this commentCongrats evil John Chow

Reply to this commentCongrats John, quality pic!
Reply to this commentCongrats John! Nice Job.
Reply to this commentCongratulations on the feature. I look forward to reading the print version.
Reply to this commentCongrats on the article. It does, however, bring me back to the anti-blog sentiment at CES…
“Blogging isn’t just a pastime or marketing gambit anymore; it’s a living.”
Quite a revelation - any chance this article was written in 2001? Could print media be any further behind the times?
Reply to this commentI just picked up tha mag an hour ago or so and besides the article about John, there’s one on how to become a billionaire. Maybe that’s John’s next step.
Reply to this commentCongratulations.
Reply to this commentNice Job.
Yeah they wanted to do an interview with me but I turned them down.
Congrats John!
