Interview with John Chow (almost)

written by John Chow on August 30, 2007

Make Money!

Ian Fernando has posted a video interview he did with me. The funny thing is I can’t remember doing this interview. Anyways, I figure you might enjoy this interview while I wait for Greg to upload my interview with Leo Laporte.

Yeah me too! The video might have been very cheesy, but at least the fella got some traffic heading his way… :)

Oh in any case this was a great move by Ian Fernando ;) haha, I have seen the guy moving here and there for a bit now…seems like he did hit the spot :)

Well done Ian.

Shaun Carter August 31, 2007 at 3:29 am

Yeah that was a pretty good idea and will certainly garner him some attention.

Hamilton Ontario Web Design August 31, 2007 at 6:25 am

It was! John is just the strong silent type :)

dcr August 30, 2007 at 8:13 pm

Scary and disturbing. But, at least he gets to experience the John Chow Effect!

Perfume Lover August 30, 2007 at 8:49 pm

“Scary and disturbing”.
These were the same words that came to my mind initially. What is your take on this John? Flattered or a little scared? :)

Enkay Blog August 30, 2007 at 8:55 pm

Definitely agree on that one! He gets a boost in traffic!

Geedos August 30, 2007 at 9:08 pm

Yeah a little bit freaky but certainly a great way to get exposure and quite neatly put together.

will August 31, 2007 at 8:58 am

I wanna experience the john chow affect :’(

Geedos September 2, 2007 at 2:38 am

Well just put together your own video of an interview with John Chow!

Infact why not do a video duel of Probloger vs John Chow or something like that – sure to get you lots of attention, exposure and the desired John Chow affect!

Carl Coddington August 30, 2007 at 8:14 pm

I am dying to see your interview with Leo. This video was a good appetizer. :)

Terra Andersen August 30, 2007 at 9:26 pm

I agree!

Congrats to the interviewer!

Kiltak August 30, 2007 at 8:15 pm

* Yawwwwwwnnnnnnn* :grin:

Starfeeder August 30, 2007 at 8:24 pm

Dude work on your audio next time …

funny pics though

Carl Zetterlund August 30, 2007 at 8:25 pm

When someone does something like that…

You know you’ve made it!

I’m waiting for my day when someone conducts an interview using my pictures. :o

Skiing at Home August 30, 2007 at 8:25 pm

You should do a complete (not almost) interview video John! Maybe the John Chow podcast? I thought about doing a weekly video like problogger does, except my subject is…well skiing not as popular as making money

Jeff Kee August 30, 2007 at 8:31 pm

If he pronounced John’s last name properly it would have been convincing.

Hamilton Ontario Web Design August 31, 2007 at 6:27 am

What’s the proper way to say it?

YC August 30, 2007 at 9:08 pm

Pretty funny in a way – but the audio needs to be up a notch

Click Input August 30, 2007 at 9:31 pm

I thought everyone knew how to say Chow. Good idea to get a JC link back I guess.

Wahlau.NET September 2, 2007 at 1:21 am

yup…he definately gain from the link jc gave him

Max August 30, 2007 at 10:14 pm

That is pretty good. I’d give him a high thumbs up for making that video. Well, maybe John will start posting all the youtube videos that we start making with his pictures….
Thinking of, I have a great idea for some funky videos. (Hint: use Photoshop)   My evil roots are coming alive!

Softsled August 30, 2007 at 10:14 pm

Flame him all you want but I thought it was at least creative.

Good job Ian.

Geedos September 3, 2007 at 8:03 pm

And also the first to do it – I’m sure lots of people are reading this thinking why didn’t I think of that!

mahdi yusuf August 30, 2007 at 11:27 pm

haha funny stuff!

MyBlogCotest August 30, 2007 at 11:28 pm

Etienne Teo August 30, 2007 at 11:29 pm

It was creative work from ian, using screenshots and video to do a interview.

Max August 31, 2007 at 12:20 am

John, I am making a video response to the above video, it’s got no photos but maybe you will find it interesting?

ian August 31, 2007 at 2:03 am

great video, very creative!

Marco August 31, 2007 at 3:10 am

Ahah great idea Ian… got you posted on JohnChow.Com, mission accomplished!

Now if John was so amused by this that he’ll grant you a real interview, you’ve really hit the jackpot!

Iantrepreneur August 31, 2007 at 3:57 am

John – Thanks – I knew this would catch your attention soon! For everyone I will take in your ideas – especially with the audio. I just started video marketing and I was just experimenting, as it was a second video that I made – maybe I just need a better camera, sorry for pronouncing your last name wrong too John my apologies.

Gearfire Productivity August 31, 2007 at 5:32 am

Jeez John, how did you not remember your own interview?!?!

You must have drank too many of those small wines…

Geedos September 3, 2007 at 8:05 pm

That beer plugin must be working well for him!

Hamilton Ontario Web Design August 31, 2007 at 6:28 am

Very clever, good job on getting the John Chow effect for free :)

htwp August 31, 2007 at 8:21 am

Very funny!

will August 31, 2007 at 8:57 am

LOL Nice!!! good editing.

Geedos September 3, 2007 at 8:06 pm

I wonder how long it took to edit this all together? From the exposure he’s got on here though I’d say it was worth it.

Nick August 31, 2007 at 9:13 am

That was pretty creative!

Shannon August 31, 2007 at 10:43 am

At least John has a sense of humor about the interview.

Geedos September 2, 2007 at 2:40 am

Yeah do you think he’ll post a reply?!?

The Foo August 31, 2007 at 11:37 am

funny interview. great stuff Ian.

Webmaster Money September 1, 2007 at 9:43 am

Very interesting link bait :)

Chris Guthrie September 1, 2007 at 3:20 pm

Yah, he certainly gets credit for creativity lol.
That’s pretty funny.

Geedos September 2, 2007 at 2:42 am

Maybe John could do a weekly video post responding to readers questions on how to make money – a quick one minute tip for the week? Just a thought but after watching the video it got me thinking.

Word Hugger September 2, 2007 at 11:09 am

That is a creative linkbaiting method ;)
