IZEA Fest 2008 - Merlin Mann Keynote
The second day of IZEA Fest 2008 started with a keynote presentation by Merlin Mann of 43 Folders. The big projection screens inside the conference room were rearranged so Ustream and Twitter users following the show can better interact with the attendees and speakers. If you see a few strange twits from me today, it’s because I like seeing my name on the big screen. 
Merlin Man presented a deceptively simple formula for growing a smart, organic audience through high-quality writing and a strong, dependable voice. Merlin is a very good speaker and engaged extremely well with both the audience and the users watching live on Ustream. His formula for blogging success is summed up in the slide above. You can watch the keynote in the video below.

Reply to this commentJust watched it. Awesome.I read a lot Merlin and I really enjoy his speeches. He can speak about anything and I will still listen impressed. That is because he has a voice.

Reply to this commentNow if I’d seen that video before starting up I would have saved myself weeks of reseach. It took me two hours to watch a one hour video because I just kept rewinding to make sure II got the most out of it. Truth is I’ll probably watch it again. Thank you for bringing this John.

Reply to this commentNice to meet you at izeafest, John. That was my first blogger conference, and Merlin’s topic was a great first presentation for me to see. Really summed it up. He looks so relaxed when he’s speaking.
I saw you sneaking some of that cake icing in your hand to get into the fray at the party after the treasure hunt, but I think no one wanted to mess with you enough to get crazy about it. I can’t believe all those folks that shoved their faces and bodies in the cake, that was crazy. We just got home, super tired, but had a good time.
