I have done it! I am ranked number 1 on Technorati! Yes, it took a while, but John Chow dot Com has finally hit the number 1 spot. It’s too bad Technorati still refuses to put me in their official Top 100 list.
Reality Check Time
OK, I’m not really ranked one 1 on Technorati (I’m really ranked 47). However, it appears Technorait has a glitch in their ranking system and every blog in their system has a number 1 ranking. Now would be a good time to take a screen shot to show all your readers you’re amazing number one ranking! 
*Update – Looks like Technorati fixed the glitch. I am back at number 47. Hope you all got your screen shots.

Hmmm It seems like everyone is number one.. That’s not good, since there is no competition.
Maybe Technorati has decided to help build up everyone’s self-esteem by making everyone number 1! No more hurt feelings from those of us previously ranked at numbers comparable to the U.S. national debt. Of course, no more motivation to do better, since we’re all equals now, right?

You still have a chance. Mine is still showing as number 1, so I’m sure it’s probably still doing the same for everyone else (unless a miracle occurred and I really am #1).

Is it just me or is technorati not reporting links for blogs?
None showing in wordpress and none directly on the site…not even for this blog
That’s probably something to do with the same glitch that’s making everyone #1.
My Authority ranking actually increased during this time, so, even though it’s not showing links, Technorati must still be recording them.
At least I hope so! I mean, I hope I keep my higher authority when Technorati recovers.

I wonder who else is not in Technorati’s Top 100 that should be? JC is ranked 47, but doesn’t appear there. Whoever is ranked 48 is also missing from the list. The blog at 49 is ranked 46 (there are three blogs tied at 16, which affects the numbering) and the blog at 50 is ranked 49. Curiouser and curiouser.
Dang! I must have caught it to late. I wasn’t number one when I checked. I was back up to 370,000 or something.

Darn Technorati has been broken for years now – they just can’t seem to get the infrastructure in place to be anything other than a novelty.
Yup, I woke up this morning and I saw an email from a friend telling me that I’m number 1 in Technorati, I really thought it was Fouls Day, but I got up, opened my laptop, browse to Technorati, and here I was, #1. After 30 sec of thinking, I knew it wasn’t possible, I mean, in the end my site only gets about 5k hits a day so I can’t be that high. So yeah, it was nice to see a 1 in there rather than a 300,000 whatever number

you know what, this morning I checked my Technorati’s ranking and I was ranked #1 too. But now, Technorati has fixed it and my ranking dropped to the normal level.
btw, hope you’ll be put on top 100 list very soon!!!
With a quick photo edit we can all be #1 in the top 100 list, Alexa or whatever. If a person can’t verify the information themself, a screen shot isn’t worth anything.
