Lunch At Bruxie Gourmet Waffle

Like most people, when I think of waffles, I think of breakfast. However, a new restaurant call Bruxie is trying to change all that with their gourmet waffle sandwiches.

By replacing the sandwich bread with a waffle, Bruxie has eliminated the traditional “breakfast only” mindset of the Belgian waffle. The Bruxie waffle are made thinner, and then folded to make it portable. The final result is one of the best tasting waffle/sandwich I’ve ever eaten.

Bruxie Waffles are paired with seasonal ingredients, offering both savory choices like Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Chili Honey & Cider Slaw (what I had), Prosciutto & Gruyere, and Hot Pastrami, as well as a variety of sweet options such as their seasonal Crème Brulee, Nutella & Banana and S’Mores. They also offer some of the best milk shakes in town.

Bruxie has six locations in Southern California. I highly recommend you try it if you’re ever in Southern California. We dined at the new Irvine store located in the Irvine Heritage Plaza. If you go, try to go during a weekday. The lineup on the weekend is pretty long.

Bruxie is the bomb and have loved it since the first location in downtown orange. Another place to check out is The Iron Press in Costa Mesa. They have beer.

I for one was never much of a waffle fan; especially, when getting stuck going to a Waffle House. When my friends knew I can’t even stand them. Don’t know why. Just something about how they look turns me off. But, from seeing your pics of Bruxie’s waffles just turned this Pancake Craving Man to crave some chicken back waffles. Now, need to find a place in New England that serves them.

Yummy, I cannot wait to try this myself, along with my kids and wife.

Do they have this in England, I wonder? :)

Looks nice, but doesn’t look like waffler. Looks more like a cutlet to me.
