Personally, it’s not just about being on top — it’s about contributing to the site as well. Just keep at it, be helpful and insightful…it should be good.

I’ve been encouraging people I know in the “biz” to write one, too — nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain (or at least the potential for gain is there).

I found almost at the same time I start posting, I found it looking for information about making money with adsense. The first post I found was His income chart for march! what really got me impressed, that I immediately add him to my google news.

Guys,

Has anyone seen this post at straygeek?
http://straygeek.com/the-john-chow-spamathon/

I got this off digg after searching for JohnChow.
This guy rips Johns blog to pieces, for making posts like the one we are commenting on.

I would be interested to hear what John has to say about this?

Ok, I think maybe he does not like what he sees here, but anyway even the review me articles come with something good, I just think that maybe John needs to be more careful in accepting the reviews that come with the site, but anyway he, and only is the owner of this blog, we are not paying him a penny for what we got here.
John, maybe you can put your reviews, food, and cars in another category, and then make a rss feed just for the category you write on topic, by yourself and not sponsored. (If you don’t mind).

This is one of the few blog i participate in and comment on even though there are other i read. The thing i dont like is when comments get censored and you never see your comments being put up.

John just lets us ramble on here so good on us. One day i ticked the notify me of other follow up comments and hey i had about 30comments in my inbox in about 30mins thats when i realise how popular this blog was

You have nothing to lose for doing a review and everything to gain. You’ll get a high PR link and a trickle of visitors - but it’s better than nothing, and it’s FREE!

Reviewing this site will do you more good than not doing anything at all, that much I can say. You gotta start somewhere, right; If you build traffic, it will come…

In my case, while I got 20 or 25 visits from this site, not much of you interested in Linux i think :), but I think it really helped me with my PR, my site was born in december 2006, I started the blog seriously in mids march, now I am PR3.
If not because the link from this site, at least because of the things I learned here.

You’d think your traffic will increase significantly when you’ve made a JC review…most often than not, that isn’t the case. The good news is that it’s all connected — you initially get a few JC readers to visit your site, your PR rating may go up, you get bookmarked for future reference, you get referrals…no where to go but up really.
