Make Money Online - Batch 71

written by John Chow on May 21st, 2007

While this maybe batch 71 of the Make Money Online reviews, I have a backlog of reviews all the way to batch 75. It’s kinda getting to be unmanageable.

I have to figure out a way to bring the backlog down. Maybe by posting two batches per day or by increasing to 20 reviews per batch. The traffic to this blog has increased quite a bit over last month, which may the reason for the flood of new reviews.

Here are the 10 reviews from batch 71.

Make Money Online By Reviewing This Blog

If you want to review John Chow dot Com, then Link to this blog’s home page with the anchor text “make money online” and link to this post showing the rules of the review. Here is an example of what I want:

John Chow dot Com is blog that helps you make money online. If you review of his blog, he’ll link to it and send you a ton of traffic.

I will link to anyone who reviews my blog. Just make sure it’s a real review and not tossed in with another post. You will get a link from a PageRank 6 blog and that will send you traffic and help improve your search engine and Technorati ranking.

I think the reviews are just going to keep piling in — and that’s definitely a good thing.

Just out of curiosity, is there anything detrimental to increasing the number of reviews to 20 per batch rather than 10?

The more outbound links the more links have to share the pagerank from the linking page. It’s similar to sharing 1 cake between 10 or 20 persons.
The good news is that in both cases you won’t be saturated

Why don’t you optimize for a different term? Are you worried about your “make money online” ranking falling?

John,
you could restrict the kind of websites linking to the blog, or you could put reviews on another subblog of this, but with links to this one. You know, like http://www.johnchow.com/linkbait, and then publish as many as you like! But still it will be successful, and as such could be unmanageable.

Or you could automate the system!
People write the review, then visit your blog, to enrol in a simple approval system. It verifies the links, then the blog is added to the system. Once there are ten, the post is autopublished. That would not need much involvement.

Don’t see why it couldn’t be done!

Kenneth

I think such thing kills the whole purpose - people should see the post, otherwise it will be just ignored.

Just my two cents…

I agree; I think an automated system would definitely lighten the load, but it could veer off the objective a little.

OK,

I’m gonna give up ranting about the fact I wrote a review and John never linked. From what I’ve seen, there a quite a few disgruntled readers who have wrote a review and never got a link back.

I wrote a review back on April 30th where I decided to challenge John Chows Linkback to see how much real extra traffic it could generate me, and I would have published the results over a 24, 48 and 72 hour period.

I guess I’ll never know how much or little traffic John Chow could send me or not.

If anyone is interested in reading my post, (Which John obviously isn’t) here is the url: http://wotzcool.com/blog/?p=45
