Make Money Online With Clickbank

January 2010 Clickbank Results

Clickbank is slowly becoming one of my biggest online money makers. Last month, I made a record $7,646.08 from the affiliate network and I expect to top that this month. If you haven’t tried them out yet, you should definitely give them a shot. Clickbank is a goldmine just waiting to be tapped.

Founded in 1998, ClickBank provides digital content – eBooks, software, memberships and subscriptions – to consumers around the world through an expanding network of product vendors and affiliate Internet marketers. The ClickBank network includes more than 100,000 active affiliates and over 12,000 vendors of tens of thousands of unique digital products.

There are two ways to make money with Clickbank. As an affiliate, you can promote any Clickbank products and earn up to 80% commission on the sale. The average commission is 50%. Since its founding, Clickbank has paid out nearly $1.5 BILLION in affiliate commissions.

The other way to make money off Clickbank is to be a publisher and list your product in the Clickbank marketplace and have the affiliates promote it. You decide how much commission you want to give. Generally, the higher your revenue share, the greater chance you have of having affiliates like me promote your product. Shoemoney used Clickbank to launch his Shoemoney System and made $100K in a single day.

Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be writing a series on how Clickbank works and how to make money from it. I hope you’ll enjoy it. For now, sign up for Clickbank if you haven’t done so. You can’t make money from it if you’re not part of it!

I will keep an eye on this Clickbank Series. I use it on various niches and its a very reliable company.

    1. I have been doing a bit of promoting on clickbank, and could use some tips! So I can’t wait to read this upcoming series!

    2. Looking forward to the Clickbank series. I already do pretty well with CB, but any new info is helpful.

    3. I’m interested in this CB series as well. Clickbank has awesome potential if you refer the right products!

      1. So according to you what is the right product … ?

  2. rayutube says:

Looking forward to your CB series as I haven’t been able to get traction with them.

    1. Same here. I need to wait though perhaps since I’ve set up a number of niche sites focusing on just keywords and preselling. Unfortunately my sites keep getting “sandboxed” by Google and never rank at all.

From what I hear though, Google sanboxing only lasts a few months, after that my niche sites should rank on the first page of Google for their keywords and start netting some profit.

Outside of that method, I am curious to see how John makes his money with ClickBank. Just hoping it’s not using my method because you run the risk of getting immediately sandboxed and make $0 for you first 3 months.

      1. There are all sorts of ways to promote Clickbank products including paid search and direct linking.

        1. I have never seen anything stating this, but is there a restriction on certain keywords that you can bid on or is it all fair game?

I know with Pepperjam Network, their advertisers give you a list of keyword that you cannot bid on which almost makes paid search results useless.

          1. John Chow says:

            Clickbank has almost no restrictions.

          2. Eric Bisson says:

I like the “almost” in your reply 🙂

          3. Certainly this is the nice way to say …

This is also an art …

    2. Clickbank is a killer! You can make some serious bank with them if you promote their ebooks and products right.

I love rebills 🙂 no ads spending, 100% commission is yours

    1. Unfortunately Rebills are at the end of the road now, so there is not much milk left in that cow, son 😉

      1. But there are some rebills in Clickbank that aren’t the scammy acai berry diet crap.

      2. Why do you say that rebills are dead?

  4. chester says:

I’m really looking forward to your future Clickbank blog posts, John. We’re writing a 72 page e-book on dieting and are looking at monetizing it. Looks like Clickbank might do the trick. Thanks for this post.

    1. CB is great for promoting your own products. Top guys like Yaro use it.

  7. A lot of people can make money online with clickbank…and as i know if we have a lot of mailing list, it`s really help.

But John Chow can you teach us how can we fight our competitors to sell clickbank products?

    1. I think John promise to reveal his strategies in clickbank — including to beat the competitors i assume. 😀

      1. Somehow I don’t think we will get the super secret strategies though.

        1. Yeah, I think John will leave a secret or 12 for himself!

  8. I only have CJ in my affiliate table now but i think i will check this click bank since i hear it is heaven for many affiliate marketers.

    1. Also look into LinkShare as well.

  9. S Ahsan says:

I am a little confused; clear it for me. Clickbank is old and i believe a lot of the affiliates have tried it and are still on it. Well its good to refresh the mind and i think they have potential. I am working on a guide where i will provide tips on several clickbank tricks ;).. cant talk about it much now but its worth waiting for 🙂 cheers

    1. Are you going to share these tricks before or after John shares his?

  10. Diabetis says:

I am romoting Clickbank on my site and I have one sale on my list. I guess that I would need to tripple my effort to bcome succesful with Clickbank.

    1. I’d more than tripple your effort. Do a massive attack!

    2. Hey it’s good you have a sale – keep doing what you’re doing!

  11. Nick says:

Great post John! My record with Clickbank was $268 two month ago, but I expect to grow this month.

  12. Andrew says:

The commission amounts on sales can be great. Looking forward to some tips to achieve regular conversions.

  13. Well I do not think that they accept application from all around the world.

    1. That sucks! I’m from South Africa and constantly encounter this barrier too. The internet is supposed to turn the world into a global marketplace 🙁

  14. D3Marketers says:

I can’t wait to see your future articles on how to make money on clickbank. I’m gonna use it to augment my knowledge on how to earn more from clickbank. Thanks for this great post.God bless!

  15. Melvin says:

I thought you don’t like Clickbank and anything thats info product related?

    1. Diabetis says:

I never recall him saying that!

Are you sure that you read it here?

      1. He said he doesn’t like ebooks, but you can promote a lot more than ebooks through Clickbank.

  16. fas says:

This is surely a great idea. But I heard they have quite stern rules?

    1. No, actually their rules are pretty lax.

  17. Thanks for sharing! I look forward to your posts about how to use it. I’ve heard about it, but never really thought much of it. Perhaps I should though. Thanks again!

  18. Clickbank is definitely a timeless way to make money online.

  19. As they say, an oldie, but a goody! the commission is great and with the correct targeted traffic it is an absolute gem!

    1. Yeah they’ve been around for a long while! But that’s usually a sign of something good in the internet world!

  20. I agree. I do ok with Clickbank but its nice to learn from the masters!

  21. Up to 80% commission!!!! That’s insane. Thanks for the tip, John.

  22. Mathew Day says:

I figured you made a LOT more from other Affiliate Campaigns and just a small % from CB. That’s pretty cool to know that some of the Top Bloggers are making that much from it.

I’ve always liked CB, but many say it’s low quality. I still push their products because the sales can be quite easy if you know what you’re doing.

Looking forward to your Posts about Clickbank and getting some of your tips that bring in mucho dinero. 🙂

    1. Please help me!! Im lost and dont know what im doing lol. im just starting to get into affiliate marketing, but I cannot figure out how to make it very profitable unless you have a blog that receives a ton of traffic. Ive been experimenting with some PPC, but it doesn’t seem profitable.

Anyone wanna help a brother out?

    2. How about some CB tips? 🙂

  23. wiseinvestor says:

I actually did not make a single cent from Clickbank affiliate links on the 125ads on my right side bar despite having more than 600 click throughs since I put them up to make the blog look nicer 4 months ago, before there are private advertisers.

I think it will requires some strategies and definitely need very high traffic.

  24. FlavaOfBlog says:

$100K in one day!!!! One day! That is crazy! I knew he made that in a month but one day is unbelievable.

  25. Dev says:

great post ….man thanks for the useful tips..

  26. Almost $8000, impressive. Do you find a lot of that is list sales or more blog?

    1. I’ve heard email is best, then twitter, then your blog for sales in the short-term.

  27. BoraParis says:

I use Clickbank as an affiliate to promote products, but not on my websites. The trick is: I figured out that pay per click advertising network is one of the vehicle that perfectly works in conjunction with Clickbank or Commission Junction. I buy advertising for as low as $5-10 on for each product to advertise and put links with my Cllickbank or CJ ID to text or banner. Due to PPC I am not spending on impressions, but setting right keywords for products for my niche makes good returns.

  28. TechOfWeb says:

Just started promoting clickbank products a week before. Lets see if it could bring a charm to me as till now me is zero in affiliate marketing. Till before, i only knew of AVG. But Clickbank as I visited is better tahn AVG if it could give me some money 🙂

And you made $7,646.08 , great earnings. congrats. But wait, i am chasing you from now onwards 🙂

  29. You need a lot of hops to make a single sale from clickbank. I average around 140 hops per sale. To make significant income from CB you definitely need a lot of traffic to your site. When it comes to the number of hops to make a sale, I don’t think there’s really a rule of thumb. I suppose it depends on a lot of things, like where the links are coming from, your site audience, how well you pre-sell your affiliate product, and so on.

    1. Interesting, so a 140:1 ratio of hops to sales. I wonder if this is different depending on the market.. do you strictly market internet marketing products or do you market other items?

  30. I have registered ClickBank for more than a year, and I haven’t made any money from it yet. But I have confidence that one day it will generate a satisfying income because I am getting more and more people click on my products.

  31. lawrenceq says:

Clickbank! You a few year late John!

    1. John Chow says:

Ya? I guess I should quit and forget about the $8K per month then.

  32. Simon Bunker says:

I am interested to see how this series develops as I have struggled with Clickbank over the last year or so.
Good to see that you can actually make some money with Clickbank.

  33. Hey John,

Couldn’t agree with you more! I have just started promoting products, and had earlier decided to promote physical products.

However, I changed my mind at the last moment, when I found out that selling digital products is more lucrative! Most of the ClickBank products pay 75% of the product cost price as commission.

I’ll be looking forward to your series on how to make money from ClickBank.

    Best Regards!

  34. John, Clickbank cold be better if they pay by PayPal. I live in Brazi, and I have tried to work with Clickbank, but the payment system by check is terrible for me.

    (Sorry my bed english)

  35. Looking forward useful posts on clickbank from you soon
