Two monitors are always better than one. 30″ is just overkill.

Choose 2 monitors. It’s more stylish and impressive than 1!

Depends on what you’re using them for. If you were primarily gaming, I’d say the one 30″ would be nice (assuming you have a couple of beefy video cards in SLI to power it).
On the other hand, your unique field of work requires lots of open windows, and I shudder to think of how many IMs you get over the course of the day, so I’d say the two 24s would be best.

I’d go with two monitors, but I use Visual Studio, and like to have code on one screen and tool windows on another. If I was just surfing the web and reading email (or something better suited to one screen) I’d go with the bigger one

But as has been said, 30″ is rather overkill!

I always prefer a 2 monitor setup because then I don’t have to worry about resizing windows to fit within the one monitor, I can just maximize windows on both sides.

That being said, if you upgrade to one 30″ are you going to be giving the others away in another contest?

Id guess 8963 dollars for august and definently go with 2 monitors, I dont have two monitors exactly but I use my laptop and desktop at once and it really makes things easier to have a giant monitor for general things and a smaller screen for more focused work.

Next month will be huge, september is pretty much the start of the advertising season and it ramps up to the holidays, slows down a bit than picks up again, than right before summer it goes crazy again and than summer itself is pretty slow!

Get a bigger desk and two 30″ displays John - you really won’t regret it. I’m using a 30″ Apple Cinema Display here, and have the temptation to pick up another at some point in the future.

I say either 1 or 3 monitors. If you go 2 you have the seam right in the middle which is bad. I would go either the 1 30″ or 3 smaller ones (my setup).

John, you’re a money machine! Love your site. Go with the 30″.. it will change your life! Have been using a Sceptre 30″ from Costco for about two years now and pump two macs and a pc through the multiple inputs. Watch High Def in the PIP at the same time, split screen, crank up the monitoring camera in the hallway outside my office, etc. Just can’t pull that off easily when you’re trying to figure out which screen you left your mouse pointer upon.

Have been working your tips on our new social network at Trikepilot Social - Wild Flying Videos and have seen a ten-fold increase in traffic and revenue. You’re my hero!

30″ gives you the room to do multiple inputs (two machines), High Def Ditigal OTA PIP signal (watch tv while working), input from security cam or otherwise, and you never have to remember where you left your mouse pointer on the screens. Check out them image of MY SCREEN

Totally go with a dual monitor setup. I run two 22″ widescreens now and absolutely love it. A 30″ would be nice but the flexibility and increased resolution of two 24’s would easily win over IMO.

I’d definitely recommend two monitors over one. The productivity boost of two monitors is enormous. I’ve always found that too high of a resolution (using one display) makes me spend too much time dragging windows around. A slighter small resolution doubled on two monitors gives you the ability to maximize windows to each monitor.

If you decide on two monitors, Ultramon (http://www.ultramon.com) is a must have!

Why stop at 30″? Just go the full hog… a 60″ LCD monitor… they must be available… That way he can watch a movie and blog at the same time…

Buy a new table that’s big enough to fit 2 30″ LCD monitors, then get those LCD monitors.

I’ve just bought a 37″ lcd to as my home monitor. Wireless keyboard + mouse whilst reclined on the sofa is the only way to work!

You made in the neighborhood of 9,500.00 is my guess. You’ll make more next month. What impact will the google ban have on the site after the next pagerank update though? In other words how much, if any, of your traffic is coming from Google?

136 errors, down from 160 last week, is a good sign. Your tech guy is headed in the right direction. There is apparently a hidden area underneath the bottom of the “popular articles” section, it looks like everything below that is pushed up underneath about 30 pixels due to .css positioning. Although it all lines up on the right visually the code indicates that everything below that point is still wider too. (actually it shows up as wider if you highlight the entire page)

Unsolicited advice of the day : run a network wide adbrite cpc campaing. Set your price at 0.05 per click, daily budget at 50.00 and enjoy 1000 visitors per day of highly untargeted visitors who won’t click on your ads. It beats paying 0.50 per click for only 100 visitors who won’t click through with adwords!

Wow, this guy is wired! Nice job with the video. I like the part where he was checking Awstats on his web server to check his visitors. That is one thing we the bloggers do right? Always interested in who came by….

Good to know that the designer has worked on using as minimal images as possible and the cutting down the displayed posts number in the homepage is a sleak move, indeed the smaller the size of the site is the better and faster the spybots can crawl the site.

Hope that I did gave you the hint of the image size (and if thats the case, i hope Nathan doesn’t hate me for that :P)

If you used PNG’s instead of JPEG’s, you’d be able to compress/optimize the images with little or no quality decrease.

I highly recommend you opting for two 24in monitors as opposed to just one 30in monitor. IMO, you can get more done with two big ones over one bigger one.

Also, I think you were in the 12k range again this month as your new blog design hasn’t been in affect for long enough to see any results.

It’s a cool video - nicely put together and I like the ending. Clearly a lot of work goes into his posts.

Site is definitely running quicker but I’m still getting the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the page.

One LCD should be better… it is more enviroment friendly I would say…

Get the 30″ then add a second when you get a bigger desk.
