Miscellaneous Ramblings – Dance Baby Dance Edition

Give Me Some MacBooks!

Shoemoney is giving away not one but TWO Apple Macbooks. A brand new latest gen MacBook (the one with the gimped glossy screen) from Market Leverage and a MacBook Air from Neil Patel. To win, you have to subscribe to Shoe’s newsletter. The winners will be posted in Shoe’s November newsletter. That’s less than three days away so you better enter now.

I think Market Leverage and Neil should each give me a MacBook to give away as well. Comment if you agree!

Interviews with 10 Killer Bloggers

Jamie Harrop has came up with a killer idea for an eBook. He managed to secured interviews with ten killer bloggers. Not only did this gave him great content for his blog but he’s packaged it up into a nice eBook for readers to download.

How To Build a Successful Email Newsletter

With all my talks about how to build a newsletter list, I haven’t done much talk on how to build a successful newsletter. Fortunately, Darren over at Problogger.net has taken care of that for me. Darren list nine steps to building a successful email newsletter. You also get three bonus tips as well. Well worth the read.

Six Reasons to Join Twitter

ZK over at WebTrafficROI has listed six reasons why you should join Twitter. While they are good reasons, I think he missed out a seventh reason. If you join Twitter and follow me you may end up in a Miscellaneous Rambling post. πŸ™‚

  1. I agree that you should get some macbooks to give away. Hell, we all should get free macbooks to give away.

The blogosphere would be a much better place with macbooks running around rampant.

    1. Ryan McLean says:

Yes, the blogosphere would be much better if we all had macs.

P.S. How cute! Tell Sally she is a great dancer. Who knows, maybe she’ll end up on “So you think you can dance?” some day.

  2. Well im not a macbook fanboy – esp with the whole glossy screen thing.. but you throw something at me for free i wont turn it down πŸ˜€

  3. BenSpark says:

I should have tweeted you a message about my Ultimate Fry Sauce Recipe Contest. Oh well, too late. I think I will check out the problogger 9 steps to a successful newsletter. I need to start one.

  4. Jules says:

Sally’s got her dance moves on. She looks sleepy also, LOL!

I entered Shoe’s contest, and I’m going to win it. HA!

  5. Sohail says:

I’ll throw in a vote for you, John! Market Leverage and Neil (or anyone else please!) should definitely give you macbooks to give away on your blog. The more chances to win a Macbook, the better!

John, I wrote you about the potentially fradulant advertising service Inforum Advertising. You’v failed to respond or take down the post, and since I found about the service through your site, I thought I could at least warn some people that take the time to read these comments. I paid for the service but never received anything in return. The owner stopped responded to emails months ago. Because you pay through PayPal there is no recourse. Suck it up as a loss. That’s fine and all, I’ve wasted more money than that, but it is irresponsible to keep up a post that is probably still sending him customers. I hate do this, but after he suddenly stopped responding to emails and failed to deliver any service, I’m trying to stop others from wasting money as well. I’ve tried to work it out with him, but with no communication it is hard. Feel free to remove this comment, but also remove the post, please.

More contests! I just spoke about contests being a good promotional tool to a business group today. All that taken from online contests like shoemoney and John Chow, plus the tip to partner for the prizes.
