Two Hour Massage for $12

Went to get a foot massage today. It’s one of my favorite things to do whenever I’m in Asia. Most foot massages last an hour but this place we went to does full body massages in addition to the foot. Therefore, we got a two hour massage – one hour of the foot and another hour for the rest of the body. Total cost per person for a two hour massage: 88RMB, or $12. That includes a private VIP room.

Ask and You Shall Receive

Mostly Lisa, who mostly comes out at night, fell in love with the Macbook Air. Only problem was she couldn’t justify spending $1,800 on one. So, she did what any hot girl with a popular blog would do in this situation. She asked her readers to send her one. Guess what recently showed up on her doorsteps?

You know, I could really use a new Corvette ZR1 but I don’t want to pay twice over list price for it. Any kind hearted readers want to buy me one? Or pay the difference over list price? I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Living The Dot Com Lifestyle

Remember my video about the Dot Com Lifestyle? It sparked quite a few posts from other people who are also living the dot com life. Michael Kwan post a good summary of all of them. Worth checking out if you need some motivation to keep building.

Dot Com Pho Richmond – The No John Chow Edition

Since I’m in Shanghai, Stephen Fung took over the video duties for the weekly Dot Com Pho. With the exception of everyone’s head being cut off (blame Ed’s camera work), he did a good job with the episode. Even though they called this the no John Chow edition, I still managed to make an appearance.

I’m trying to get the product in the video…if that means cutting off the top of Leo’s head…then that’s alright by me.

She got a free MBA? I’d say “THAT’S BULLSHIT!” but then again, we get free stuff all the time…like my bathroom Samsung 24″ LCD and my spare Macbook Pro…

Stephen May 18, 2008 at 10:54 am

I think I need an extra house to store all my free stuff. Hey, someone, get me an extra house so I dump all my stuff in there. Then I can roll around in it without tripping on the stuff all the time  ;)

Terry Tay May 18, 2008 at 9:06 pm

You could share the wealth with that guy
I could put it all to good use. No use letting it sit in a house collecting dust
~Terry

Stephen May 18, 2008 at 9:07 pm

But if I give it all away too fast, I will have nothing to roll around in. Kind of like Scrooge McDuck. If he had no money in his money bin, how could he swim in it?

Ed Lau May 19, 2008 at 12:50 am

Just a note…don’t swim in RAM naked. That stuff has sharp edges. I learned the hard way.

Nicholas James May 18, 2008 at 10:40 pm

So what, if you think that…her reader sent her one.

Don’t really think i’d be going round saying “look a reader just sent me a mb air” when they hadn’t…if your readers find out you just look stupid :!:

Thiago Prado May 18, 2008 at 6:56 am

What the hell is that guy doing with Shoemoney t-shirts in dot com pho?

Stephen May 18, 2008 at 8:59 pm

He had a John Chow moment. Eventually, we made Greg zip up.

Nicholas James May 18, 2008 at 10:49 pm

The Little League Coach May 18, 2008 at 7:18 am

I am on my way to the .com lifestyle!

Kyle Klingler May 19, 2008 at 12:24 pm

I wish you luck ;)
Just keep up with everything and don’t start slacking. You can slack when you get there :p

Joe Ngo May 18, 2008 at 7:59 am

Can I have one of the My Book 2s? That’s so awesome that you guys get that kind of free stuff!

Thiago Prado May 18, 2008 at 8:57 am

In order to you get free stuff you need to become very popular. After that many companies will be glad to send you products so you can promote them in you blog.

Kyle Klingler May 19, 2008 at 12:26 pm

That is true to a degree. If you know the right people you can get free stuff as long as you show that you are dedicated. You will know what I mean once I post my article on some free stuff I have gotten already from the best affiliate network in the world, Market Leverage :D !

The Berry Tree May 18, 2008 at 8:04 am

That is awesome that someone sent her a Macbook Air. If someone gets you a new Corvette, I can take care of your existing car :P .

Financial Jesus May 18, 2008 at 8:31 am

Berry Tree, if you get John’s old car, I am willing to take care of your old one!

anthony dinh - DiariesOfABlogger May 18, 2008 at 1:28 pm

Affiliate Confession May 18, 2008 at 7:51 pm

Are you serious? People are paying $200k for the ZR1? That’s crazy!

Syed Balkhi May 19, 2008 at 9:34 pm

yeah they are .. and the resale value of corvettes aren’t high either.

Flimjo May 18, 2008 at 8:41 am

Let me know if you get that Corvette. That would take blogging to a whole new level.

Kyle Klingler May 19, 2008 at 12:18 pm

Haha, that would be jaw dropping to say the least.

Wade May 18, 2008 at 9:02 am

That is awesome. I can’t believe someone just spend like 1800 bucks just because someone said they wanted a mac. I just want a laptop. Any decent one, not a mac though.

The idea of living the dot com lifestyle is becoming a reality to me, thanks to you and the other probloggers for paving the pathway before us.

Cheers!

Stak Loaded - How to make money doing nothing! May 18, 2008 at 12:27 pm

Lol really? I’m half thinking she just bought it herself and said someone sent it to her as a publicity stunt.

Mostly Lisa May 18, 2008 at 12:34 pm

how about this, I’ll ask for the Corvette ZR1 and split it like a cell phone plan. You get the daytime minutes and I’ll take evenings and weekends. Sounds fair, doesn’t it?

Terry Tay May 18, 2008 at 8:54 pm

Hmmmm…I was going to send the keys right on over, but I could get a lot of $12 massages for the cost of the Vette

DAILYMACHO! May 18, 2008 at 12:40 pm

whats the song at the beginning of the video???

Stephen May 18, 2008 at 9:01 pm

You mean the Dot Com Pho episode? You should ask Stephen. Oh wait, that’s me

It’s one of the tracks that are available in iMovie 08 called “Farewell”.

Cronus May 18, 2008 at 2:02 pm

Hmmm, on my blog I give away stuff to keep people around, maybe I was doing it backwards the whole time.

Kyle Klingler May 19, 2008 at 12:21 pm

Giving things away is a good step. Haven’t you heard the term, “Give and ye shall receive”?

Senghooi May 18, 2008 at 5:48 pm

talking about massage…you could try it at Thailand too. Their tradition massage is good  .

Terry Tay May 18, 2008 at 7:14 pm

$12 massages and free stuff sound good

Terry Tay – Now accepting FREE gifts. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in sending me FREE stuff. Macbook Airs, Ipods, Wiis, etc. Cash weighing you down? Feel free to send that too

I may or may not give out massages if you send me a new car. I’d like a Vette, but I’d be happy with a Hybrid

The Berry Tree May 18, 2008 at 8:02 pm

I think that it is also pretty cool that two hour massages are 12$ :P .

Stephen May 18, 2008 at 9:09 pm

I’m sure John requested the “EVIL” kind, but his wife smacked him silly so he had to settle for the $12 special

Congratulation ! That’s great, I love winning prizes

Kyle Klingler May 19, 2008 at 12:17 pm

I am aiming for the dot com lifestyle right now, its tough though. I am dedicated, so I know I will be there eventually. The only thing is I am going to make sure I have a hell of a fun time along the way. Hopefully I can start making it to some Dot Com Pho’s before they start getting huge.

Syed Balkhi May 19, 2008 at 9:28 pm

I would love that massage pretty cheap…

Once again John, I ain’t buying you anything. You said it yourself hot girl with a popular blog. While you have a popular blog, you are not a hot girl :P

VeRonda May 20, 2008 at 6:23 pm

K, I must admit that a two-hour massage is breath taking. But, I have to ask, what is there to do to a foot for an hour? I am a 7 1/2 and I’m figuring my foot would be pretty overwhelmed. BTW, inspired by the dot com reality.

Pradeep May 30, 2008 at 4:10 am

Lucky girl Lisa i never got any thing from some one i dont know :(

$ Secret Money Blog $ May 31, 2008 at 6:28 am
