Miscellaneous Ramblings – Monday Odds and End

Meet Me At The Vancouver Blogger Meetup Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the night for bloggers in Vancouver to meet up, drink, dine and network. We will be meeting at The Black Water Cafe at 280 Carrall Street in downtown Vancouver at 7PM. So far, 25 people have confirmed for the event. I’m not sure how the cafe is going to react to that but it’s their fault for accepting us! Actually, I’m sure they’ll be very happy with the exposure this will give them.

If you wish to join us for this meeting for Blogger minds, then please RSVP here. The RSVP deadline is 11:30PM tonight. See you there! I hope the Black Water has WiFi.

Still have Time To Win a Flip

My contest with Bic Promo Pen is coming to a close. If you haven’t entered yet, then you have until the end of the month to do so. It might win you a Flip digital video camcorder!

Win A Bag Of Cool Stuff

If you’re a Photochopper, then Michael Kwan has contest for you. He’s giving away a bag of stuff for the best photochop of me. But you better hurry. The contest deadline is the end of this month.

BlogOnExpo Looking for Sponsors

The second Blog On Expo starts next month and there’s still some sponsorship space left if any advertisers are interested. Tell them John Chow sent you to get a special rate. Email Aditya at [email protected] for more information.

One Upping The Shoe

Shoemoney posted that he recently passed the 60,000 comments mark. That’s a lot of comments for any blog. Of course, it also made me check how many comments my blog has.

Better luck next time, Shoe. 😈

What’s with that one poor unmoderated comment? Saving it for a special day or something John? lol

    1. Wow, 110,000 comments is amazing. Here’s another one to add to the total. No really, congratulations on being a top blogger and getting all the traffic and participation.

    2. John Chow says:

I decided to take the screen shot before approving the comment.

  3. Keith Cash says:

The question on yours and shoe’s blog comments, how many comments are yours on your site and how many times has shoemoney commented on his site to get a exact total….. 😀 😀 I hope that maybe some day I can get 10 percent of what you guys get….LOL

  4. browie says:

Shoot, wish I would have seen your tweet about this. I would have said, put “browie is the best nebraskan”. 🙄

  5. That’s a serious looking dashboard Chow-Man! I bet it feels like it was just yesterday you hit “publish” on your first blog post!

  6. Hugo Santos says:

i wonder what is the size of your database :O)

    1. John Chow says:

      The database is pretty massive!

  7. John Chow says:

I would say less than 2% of the comments are ours.

    1. John, so how many people write comments on your behalf?

  8. 110k comments is crazy. I’ve already entered the contest to win the Flip.

  9. I dont think anyone has checked comments on http://www.WebTrafficROI.com that are a little short of 120,000 mark 😉

  10. Hehe, half of the comments on my website are mine 😈 … but I still haven’t reached 1,000

  11. Let’s shoot for 200,000 comments.

  12. Geiger says:

You guys would have a lot more comments if you left old posts open longer.

    1. Geiger says:

Just looked. 428 comments for me!

    2. dcr says:

And put the Top Commentators back in the sidebar. Wouldn’t you just know that the second time I make the list, he decides to take it down!

      1. John Chow says:

The Top Commentator plugin was causing a bunch of DB issues yesterday. Once we figure it out, we’ll put it back on.

        1. dcr says:

          Such is my luck. 😉

  13. Jan Alvin says:

John You’re really bullying Shoe. 😆

  15. fas says:
