More Than You Can Afford, Pal!
written by John Chow on November 29th, 2006

It’s hard to believe the above photo was taken only a few days ago. The car is no doubt sitting in some climate control garage now. Whenever I see a Ferrari, I’m always reminded of the movie The Fast & The Furious. The scene where Vin Diesel and Paul Walker pull up next to the Ferrari and ask for the retail on it was classic.
Paul Walker, “Nice car. What’s the retail on one of those?”
Ferrari driver, “More than you can afford, pal! Ferrari!”
Vin Diesel, “Smoke him.”
The movie has more funny quotes than any movie every made! “I live my life a quarter mile at a time. And during those 10 seconds, or less, I’m free.”

NOBODY LIKES THE TUNA
Reply to this commentNice car…usually a ferrari like that reminds me of the one in Bad Boys 2. The one Will Smith was driving.
Reply to this commentAs I’ve mentioned more than once to you and Carl, I can almost recite that movie word for word complete with fake Vin Diesel and Paul Walker voices. FATF is one of the stupidest movies ever. Seriously…
Reply to this commentNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…..MONICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Reply to this comment“Almost had me? You never had me! You never had your car! Granny shiftin’, not double clutching like ya should! You’re lucky you didn’t blow the welds on the intake!”
classic movie…
Reply to this comment^I never understood that line. “Never had your car.” What kind of insult is that supposed to be.
Reply to this commentMichael - I think the insult was suppose to mean you lost even before you entered the race.
Reply to this commentamazing car,
Reply to this commentThat film is full of cheesy quotes… but I think the cheesy quote award should go to Top Gun. That has some of the biggest cheesy quotes ever.
Reply to this comment“Your mouth is writing checks that your body can’t cash!”
Top Gun was the Brokeback Mountain of its day, a film based entirely of latent homosexuality.
Reply to this commentDude, don’t ever bash Top Gun…it’s one of the best movies of its time.
Reply to this commentDon’t see many Ferrari’s up north John? Ever since I moved to Vegas a few months ago I sure see them and surprisingly a lot of the new Bentley coupes and a couple Lamborghinis. Then again, this is Vegas
I think the best line had to be where Vin Diesel talks about how his dad died in a turn at a pro stock race. Considering a pro stock race doesn’t have turns (pro stock is drag racing), that is pretty sad.
Oh, and we can’t forget how that movie had all the youngins talking about “nos”. I found a t-shirt that says “It’s nitrous oxide, not nos you idiot”.
Reply to this commentWant to see a lot of high profile cars? You need to come for a holiday to the Gold Coast in Australia some time. I regularly drive down streets where you’ll see two or three of each of the top of the line exotic cars (ferrari, lamborghini, aston, porsche, bmw, bentley, ..).
