MSI Night at New York, New York
We headed off to New York, New York for a party with MSI. No, not the New York, New York in the USA. You see, Taipei has a New York, New York as well, complete with its own mini statute of liberty.
MSI is a leading manufacturer of motherboards and other computer components. They’ve recently entered the mini notebook race with the new MSI Wind. Of all the sub notes I’ve seen at Computex, the Wind is the one I would buy. The best thing I like about the Wind is the full size keyboard. I couldn’t get use to the small keyboard used by the Asus EeePC. As luck with have it, MSI was giving away a Wind to one lucky party goer.
In addition to the Wind contest, the MSI party features great food, live cover band, MSI dancers and a beer drinking contest. Overall, a very fun event.

Had not heard of MSI before, well maybe I have, but its been a few years..
MSI are still around
not heard of them in ages.
Haha really? I’m pretty sure they make gfx cards too, I remember seeing the name around.
Guess whose logo is showing at Entrecard section. I’ll give a hint ยป ITS MINE. hahahaha
Advertising on John’s site?
With Entrecard I had the opportunity to advertise in John chow blog. NICE!!!
MSI were there ?
really very fun event…
You must be enjoying a lot, you don’t care of your buisness, as you run it from anypart of the world!! that’s the life eeryone wants!!…. Enjoying & working together….
His enjoyment is a part of his business!
He enjoys, then writes about it in his blog and then makes money! Did I miss out something??
ya ya i agree with that Abdul!! but he lives an awesome life!!
doesn’t he??
Yo john, you’ve been partying around everyday right?
You’re having a real fun time in Taipei!
Do you go every year?
I’ve been going to Computex since 2004.
Does it get better and better each year or have other years been better?
~Terry
Unlucky in the contest although I thought the other bloke cheated, there should have been a time penalty each time you dropped the ball.
In the game of blow the ball through the glass of water, in my opinion if the ball fall you have to go to the beginning. In you turn the ball didn’t fall and he dropped 2 twice. Totally unfair.
I was just writing that, when i looked up and saw your comment.. i was going to say you should lose when your ball falls but starting over is just as fair.. stupid.. you should have imo
Yep, they should have had some type of rules specified – or maybe they did – but I think John should have won based on the ball staying on the whole time.
~Terry
Yeah, I agree. He should have had to start again when the ball dropped!
Look like good IT party, nice John!
Not into drinking beer like that any longer, even though it wasn’t serious chugging. About 4 of those beers that quick and I’d be blowin chunks.
That one guy ending up blowing chunks after doing the final. Not exactly the way you want to impress the girls at a party
Hey John, did “blowing chunks guy” win the chug contest or was it a draw?
Blowing balls and blowing chunks party
~Terry
I guess I didn’t watch the video till the end.
Great life , as long as there are great girls , good food and music.
We all need that
Aw John, can’t believe you lost by a second! Looks like fun anyways.
The guy who won the beer contest had the gut to go along with it.
Yeah, he definitely looked he has a few years of training up his sleeve.
John,
Sound like a great fun! MSI is not that ‘owning’ the market anymore, doesn’t it?
Great exhibition John
Cool video! I especially like the dancing girls!
You should have won the notebook John. The other guy dropped the ball twice and should have had to start over or been disqualified.
Man all this technology in one place. John, you look like a kid in a candy store!
Nice party. Are these parties invite only?
All the parties are invite only.
The only thing I don’t like about the food like that at parties is it’s wide open and anything that’s floating around in the air, falling off people’s clothes or hair, goes into the food. If you’re eating early it’s somewhat ok but late comers are getting the extra “toppings”
Maybe that’s why the guy was blowing chunks..too much toppings
~Terry
But, his ping pong ball fell down! MSI is popular for its graphic cards and mobo’s. Like Mr. Chow, I prefer Gigabyte over MSI though. Rock on. I love this blog.
Dang, if only you blew quick and just let it fall off the cup
It would be funny if your buddy had to start all over for dropping the ball.
As for the shirt…you’re just an evil evil man lol.

p.s. They should hire more energetic dancers..

tq
It sounds like they had quite a great set up. I like events like that.
