My First iMovie 11 Movie Trailer – What Do You Think?

My new Macbook Air comes preinstall with iLife 11 which includes iPhoto 11, iMovie 11 and Garage Band 11. I used iMovie 09 to do all my video editing and was keen to see what new features iMovie 11 would bring to the table.

One of the coolest iMovie 11 feature allows you to create professional looking movie trailers. Just by following the storyboard guide, you can have a trailer up and running in a matter of minutes. I tested out the feature by creating a movie trailer to promote my jet ski trip to Bill Gates’ house. The entire process took about five minutes. Enjoy the trailer and please tell me what you think.

It looks interesting but a bit over the top perhaps. Maybe after a while it will look ordinary when a lot of people start using it.

    2. Yes this is looking very professional video and quality of video is also very fine and clear on that much editing other editors can’t make so clear videos because their effect sizes are very big and thats why they compress the original video size quality.

i wasn’t really intrigued by that, maybe you need to tell a little of the story in the trailer and add some cool music.

    1. d3so says:

I thought the quality was good for a homemade amateur trailer.

      1. Dan Lew says:

    1. though all video fron john have professional look but this one is quite different.

      1. What looks different is mainly the graphics ast the beginning and the end of the movie. I think the content will still be the most interesting part when the novelty wears of.

        1. Yes we noticed that there are many changes came in John Chow’s video, though I like first one …

  11. certainly i like it and interesting thing was you are director, actor and producer as well.

  21. David M says:

I think that was an impressive movie trailer. It looks very professional. The graphics are cool and the ending credits make the movie standout Hollywood style. I wonder if the program allows you to exclude some of the ending credits. Great job.

  22. I recently used Vegas Movie Studio HD 9 but that did not worked for me because it need a technical and experienced person but iMovie 11 looks to be easy to use.

I am surly going to use it.

    1. Yes if any software can be easy to use than chances of getting popularity will be quite high.

  23. Mr. Sagada says:

that’s right, imovie 11 seems an easy software. The trailer is not bad !

    1. Dan Lew says:

Not bad? Lol its very good!

I think I will buy an macbook air soon just for the fact that it comes with that application.

    1. Fernando says:

Hahaha, you don’t have too. You can emulate Apple programs on any windows.

Neat! I want one! I could use it to hype up my sci-fi novel, “The Generation”. Awesome work and very inspiring! Can’t wait to see more.

  26. Seen your movie was giving a great look and music was matching to the Hollywood action-airs, I always thinks about shooting my self and stuffs with a camera but feels fail before starting.
