My Name Is My Domain List
Time for another Evil Blog Promotion Idea. This one comes from my friend Gary Lee. Gary was inspired by the Tech List and came up with a “My Name Is My Domain” list. To be included in the list, your name and your domain name must be the same. Having your name as the domain is one of the requirement for Dot Com Mogul status.
Like the Tech List, you reproduce the original list and then add up to three other blogs with domain names that are the same as the owners. Then let those added blogs know and tell them to do the same thing. Eventually, the list will spread all over the Internet and drive Technorati crazy. let’s see how many people we can get banned!
***Start Copying Here***
1) Write a short introduction paragraph about what how you found the list and include a link to the blog that referred you to the list.
2) COPY the ENTIRE List below and add it to your blog. To avoid duplicate content and increase the amount of keywords your site can accessible for, go ahead and change the titles of the blog. Just don’t change the links of the blog.
3) Take “My Adds” and move them into the “My Originals” list.
4) Add 3 Brand New Narcissistic Bloggers that you know of
My Adds:
Bob Buskirk
Jon Waraas
David Lithman
The Originals:
Gary Lee
Ed Lau
John Chow dot Com
Nate Whitehill
Stephen Fung
Michael Kwan
Jeff Kee
Stuart Hannig
Hannes Johnson
Nomar
Nathan Drach
Saman Sadeghi
***Stop Copying Here***
The original list had Kumiko Suzuki in it but I removed her. While Kumiko has her name in the URL, the domain belongs to Blogger. Sorry Kumiko. Get KumikoSuzuki.com and then you can join the fun. ![]()

Man, we’re so getting banned from Technorati…
Reply to this commentYour blog doesn’t qualify! You’re an EdEdition.com, not an EdLau.com or an EdwinLau.com
Reply to this commentI thought Ed’s last name was “[ED]ition”?
Reply to this commenthaha
Reply to this commentone can only hope to get enough backlinks to get banned from technorati
then we can just be evil and pretend like we dont know what happened and technorati will give us our rankings back
right john?
lol
I doubt they’ll be that ignorant , let’s hope they will give tons of more backlinks, I want to enter the top 20k :p
Reply to this commenti just wanted to see what other narcissistic bloggers there were in the blosophere . . really!
Reply to this commentWhat you realy want is your surname and sub domain it for your whole family, like johh.chow.com then your mail address would be john@chow.com, far cooler.
Reply to this commentHa, that’d be pretty neat. Too bad Kwan.com is already taken
Reply to this commentI would love to buy chow.com but it’s own by CNet and they refuse to sell.
Reply to this commentI could have got my name (uk domain) a few years back and never bothered, I really regret it now.
Reply to this commenttoo bad wong.com is taken too. The domain hoggers sure know the worthiness of surnames, and they just won’t give them up!
Reply to this commentagain with the ego blogs. dang it, shoulda had mine up sooner.
Reply to this commentPretty soon as this spreads around the web there are going to be quite a few duplicates.
Reply to this commentPeople have been registering their names and hosting sites under them for around 15 years, its an old idea ….
Reply to this commentIt is nothing new really. Just that the combination of your first name and last have to be pretty unique to grab yours.
Reply to this commentOh I’m going to have to add my name to that list huh?
Reply to this commentUh oh, it seems I’ve been banned by Technorati. My blog doesn’t show up in the search results, but the Technorati page still exists.
Reply to this commentI see you on technorati . . it seems your btr is claimed, but www isn’t . .
Reply to this commentAlready?! wow lol.
Reply to this commentYup, the WWW was launched in 1990, you didnt miss much it was rubbish for the first few years… didnt stop people registering domains, wish I had my surname now…
Reply to this commentDon’t forget about me!
Reply to this commenthttp://www.jonlee.ca
Do .ca’s count?
Reply to this commentWhy not ?
Reply to this commentImagine what my url would look like. My name is Rehuel Lobato de Mesquita -> rehuellobatodemesquita.com. Any
Reply to this commentbenefits to having your name as domain name?
(Clicked before I was done)
Reply to this commentIt is akin to holding a piece of virtual property in your hands. You may not know it, but there may be others who have the same name as you do. So.. Why not grab it fast?
Reply to this commentyes . . i totally agree . . the person who has my name as their domain is currently a evangelist in the hispanic community . . .
Reply to this commentAnd the person who has my real name in life is a Senior Manager (Product Marketing) over at Yahoo! Now, think of that..
Reply to this commentFast, fast would have been many years ago, now is too late, for surnames at least, unless you have a really wierd name, or stick numbers on the end.
I registered the surname of a friend a couple of years ago and gave it to him. He never used it and its now up for grabs again, gutted I have a more common surname, I would love to have my surname for my mail address.
Reply to this commentI guess I qualify to be on that list!!
Reply to this commentI’d qualify for that list too. My links will be different, though
They’ll be a bit more cryptic.
Reply to this commentNow I qualify too
just need to install a blog at rehuellobatodemesquita.com
Reply to this commentHAHA nice one. I wanted to get mitchellharper.com, mitchharper.com or even mytch.com - all of which are taken until at least 2010. Damn those domain hoarders!!!
Reply to this commentLook at my nickname in my blog and you could do nice things if the pronunciation only could do.
Reply to this commentWell, it is irritating if they aren’t making use of the name at all isn’t it? If they are hoarding, is it the name of someone famous?
Reply to this commentA lot of “name” domains are used for E-mail only, they are using them, just not hosting sites with them.
Reply to this commentHey John, thank you for the mention, but you spalled my name and site wrong.
my name is StuartHannig not StuartHanning, If you could fix that I would really appreciate it!
Reply to this commentI just copied and pasted the list from Mr. Gary Lee, so blame him.
Reply to this commentHi Stuart . . . sorry about that . . michael kwan got me on that too . . i’m going to change you on my list right now too
Reply to this commentI qualify for that list, but I don’t know 3 more people with their own domains. So I’ll pass, unless someone wants to use me, and force me to go hunting!
Reply to this commentYou don’t have to list three. Just list up to three. You can just list yourself.
Reply to this commentMy domain is the same as my online identity, does that count for anything? Not even half a mention?
haha
Reply to this commentActually, the original Gary Lee list was ‘My Name Is *IN* My Domain’ - so I do qualify under his list. But if you want to change the list, that’s cool. A free link from JC is worth more to me!
Kumiko
Reply to this commentxo
Great Great , I will post this one to
Reply to this commentHaha! This is hilarious! It seems some people picked up the list before JC got to it and now their commentators are debating on whether I should be included or not! Haha!!! You’ve done an evil thing John!!! But i do love a little controversy surrounding me!
Kumiko

Reply to this commentWas wondering where all the backlinks and traffic came from the last few days. Thanks for the support.
Reply to this commentAre hyphens allowed? I own pat-doyle.com (patdoyle.com was taken). I have owned it for a while already. (There is nothing there right now, but I could post the list, if I am allowed in this group.)
Reply to this commentThat’s gotta count.
