MyAvatars for MyBlogLog Plugin Broken
I have turn off the MyAvatars for MyBlogLog plugin because all the images are broken. The Wordpress Plugin shows MyBlogLog avatars in the comments and allows you to put a face to the commentators. However, MyBlogLog must have made a change in their system recently because the avatars no longer show up. Instead, you just get a broken image.
I assume the broken images are caused by MyBlogLog moving their user avatars to a new location. That’s really too bad because I really liked the MyAvatars plugin. Hopefully, the creator of the plugin will post an update and fix this problem. Then again, with the plugin disable, the blog may load faster because some commentators used really big avatars.
*Update - What do you know? The avatars are back! ![]()

Yeah, I noticed it first on my blog! But then I thought I had got something wrong. When I saw it here, I began to wonder.
Hopefully it will be fixed!

Reply to this commentSry, i meant a plugin for stats
Reply to this commentI saw that at a friend’s blog too. I really liked the avatar plugin.
Reply to this commentI hope they sort it out soon, but if they don’t I guess it’s alright.
Reply to this commentI was going to say something meaningful but then I didn’t.
Reply to this commentYou can use gravatars in the meantime. Gravatars used to be really popular, but has got overshadowed by mybloglog. But its still better than nothing.

My site uses gravatars. You can see it in action here.
Hi!
I received a message on my blog from Napolux, the MyAvatars creator and they are now working again on my blog. However, if a commentor does not have a mybloglog account, the avatar still comes up as an error.
Reply to this commentWow.. it really is loading a lot quicker. I liked the faces but I’m liking the speed even more. Maybe I just need to get a faster machine?
Reply to this commentI know what you mean but I really like seeing the faces more (so I can put up with the slightly slower speed).
Anyway, hopefully John will turn his avatars back on soon as they should now be working.
Reply to this commentIt’s working now!
Check my blog to see
Reply to this commentI have noticed not working it and on other blogs too..
Reply to this commentBut it’s working now.
Reply to this commentAnd here I was, just finished installing that plugging, wondering why I wasn’t seeing anything, then I read this!
Reply to this commentYou should be able to see the avatars now as the plugin is now working.
Reply to this commentMybloglog now can use flickr for the avatar
Reply to this commentman, I wanted to see if my face worked.
Reply to this commentIt seems to be working now.
Reply to this commentI was going nuts yesterday thinking I had done something to screw up my blog. The Comment Email Responder Plugin I use pulls in images from MyAvatar, and I couldn’t see them. They are back today though.
I FINALLY wrote my post encouraging my readers to sign up with Agloco, John! I know I’m pretty late to get started but better late than never, I hope
Reply to this commentJohn you can safely turn the plugin on now. It was offline for some time but now its back
I can see MyBlogLog avatars on my blog now
Reply to this commentyes, have noticed that
Reply to this commentWell darn, that’s too bad. The only reason I joined MyBlogLog was too get my avatar to show up on JohnChow.com. Hahah!
Reply to this commentI like avatars for putting faces to the posts. Although I see a nipple avatar in John’s MyBlogLog feed to the right.
And without avatars, how are the spam sites with pretty blond girl avatars going to get traffic?
Reply to this commentI’m looking forward to some additional features for the new versions.. Can’t wait.
Reply to this commentOh… it seems the avatar plugin is once again working.
Reply to this commentI think MyBlogLog moved all the avatar picture onto Amazon S3 service to leverage the load…
Reply to this commentYup, it’s up and running again; the wait wasn’t so bad.
Reply to this commentHey John, while your at it make a forum too. Im sure you could monetize that too! Just make it free , and throw up adsense or something.
