Ludicrous.

I was impressed with the fact that the reporter was able to keep a straight face throughout the story.

chrisblogging.com July 27, 2007 at 11:15 am

Haha…I like this…anybody who has ever been around children gets the point!

Angel July 27, 2007 at 11:27 am

I don’t think you need to have been around children to get the point.

Pam Hoffman July 27, 2007 at 11:28 am

Brought to you by the same ppl who said that the internet crashed the other day.

Will people really believe this? Some of the comments here make me wonder…

p.s. i suppose it ISs a brilliant marketing move – the more outrageous, the more it will get passed around and make a ‘buzz’ in the w3 world.

You know, right now there are probably at least a dozen people searching Google in hopes of finding out how to get in contact with this nanny service…

Simon July 27, 2007 at 3:24 pm

I use this service quite a lot, it’s good value.

Webmaster Money July 27, 2007 at 3:43 pm

I can not see the movie. Something is wrong?

Stephanie Law July 27, 2007 at 5:22 pm

Lol that’s funny.. In the UK some people are actually paying more now to send their children to nannys who can speak Mandarin and therefore teach the kids Mandarin and give them a headstart since Mandarin is becoming more widely used around the globe.

mason July 27, 2007 at 5:45 pm

heh I always wondered about that. Since there are about a billion people who speak mandarin in the world, why don’t they teach it in school? Then again I can’t see people speaking mandarin a lot here in texas lol.

Thomas De Maesschalck July 28, 2007 at 12:46 pm

I heard Mandarin is an extremely hard language to learn and that it takes quite a few years if you really want to learn it well. Giving kids a couple of hours of Mandarin a week won’t learn them a lot.

Also, I don’t really see the need to learn children to speak Mandarin. Most Europeans or Americans will never come in contact with a person that only speaks Mandarin, except if they travel to China. And even in China it may not be necessary to know Mandarin as lots of Chinese people are learning English.

According to Wikipedia 200-300 million Chinese people already speak English and it’s been estimated that within 20 years there will be more English-speaking Chinese than native English speakers in the rest of the world.

Additionally, there are very very few jobs that require you to speak Mandarin. In fact, most of the people in my country who studied sinology at university complain that they can barely find a job.

Angel July 27, 2007 at 6:30 pm

Yeah, more blogger light relief please.

musicNmovies July 27, 2007 at 7:18 pm

WHY the hell do these parents have BABIES in first place when they can’t take care of them ?

It’s really insane ….

They are treating their own child as some kind of PACKAGE MATERIAL …. OMG

These parents should be punished for such INHUMAN act. Western world have GONE COMPLETELY WRONG bit of humanity, love and family values are left only in our EASTERN WORLD (Sp. South Aisia). Though the countries are not as rich as western counter parts, though we might not have as good daily facilities & infrastructure as western world, but we have LOVE & HUMANITY still alive in our hearts !

cool tidbits July 27, 2007 at 11:50 pm

Uh, you do know this was fake, right?

Jay Tillery July 28, 2007 at 1:22 pm

Calm down Tigress. Do you really believe someone will ship their kid off to India?

Nathan Roe July 27, 2007 at 9:15 pm

Not really sure how I feel about this, mostly since i am a kid!

Like they say, don’t knock it until you try it! It was funny!

Ankit July 29, 2007 at 1:56 am

Places like India ? , buddy India has 4 times the GDP of Canada and you say places like India ! India is much more technologically advanced than Canada and there are uncountable things i can put here.

live in your first(supposed) world arrogance !

Thomas De Maesschalck July 29, 2007 at 9:46 am

India’s GDP is indeed higher than Canada’s but India has more than 30x as many citizens

India’s GDP per capita: $3,800
Canada’s GDP per capita: $35,600

Ankit July 29, 2007 at 8:12 pm

Are you aware of a thing called the price Index ?

Nowhere in economics do we use per capita GDP LOL

Ankit July 29, 2007 at 8:14 pm

What costs $10 in Canada may cost just $.5 in India, hence there is no need for more pay.

Asela July 30, 2007 at 12:17 am

Wow they send kids to my Country “Sri Lanka”

tim July 30, 2007 at 3:15 am

I don’t understand why these parents want to have baby and don’t want to take care baby themselves? What a bad idea to send out their kids to some other country !

Luckily Mr John work as blogger ,and able take care your own baby (saw your baby video in last post).
