As a bonus for those that lose out on the prize, they get a chance to explore some of your older posts. - Contest post where everyone enters a comment with a number, entered sequentially, and you then pick a random number at the end. This is used on a car care forum I frequent with some success. Not sure what other ideas or if you want to try and monetize the contest to your advantage, as mentioned by Sean but these were the first things that came to mind. Then after they enter, they have to answer a few yes/no questions to complete the registration (which are basically offers for products), then a thank you page. Have a drawing, then give the winner his or her prize. I know freescholarshipguide.com does this and makes over 20 grand a day off coreg leads (at least that was the case two years ago when they tried to hire me). ha, Ill enter to win if you have any HD projectors floating around.
