I like the idea of getting people explore your blog. Something is the same line: ask several questions about your blog (like how many total posts/comments it has, etc) and give a prize to the best guess

First, thanks for the link to BerryBusyBlog and the free advertising. I've submitted my request as I will take any means to try and get a little extra traffic to my site.

As for the contest, I'm not sure how much you have to give away but here are some basic ideas:

- Prize to the person that has the most comments on your blog.

- Select a hidden nugget from an article on your site and a prize goes to the person that can find it. As a bonus for those that lose out on the prize, they get a chance to explore some of your older posts.

- Contest post where everyone enters a comment with a number, entered sequentially, and you then pick a random number at the end. This is used on a car care forum I frequent with some success.

Not sure what other ideas or if you want to try and monetize the contest to your advantage, as mentioned by Sean but these were the first things that came to mind.

What format to hold the contest in? hmm. You could try a coregistration site aka coreg. Have a landing page where the user enters to win a core duo (or whatever else electronics your throwing away). Then after they enter, they have to answer a few yes/no questions to complete the registration (which are basically offers for products), then a thank you page. Have a drawing, then give the winner his or her prize. I know freescholarshipguide.com does this and makes over 20 grand a day off coreg leads (at least that was the case two years ago when they tried to hire me). ha, Ill enter to win if you have any HD projectors floating around. My home theatre needs upgrading. :)
