Now why can’t the Vancouver Police get anything like this? I think the only non-sedan police car they have is some riced out Honda Civic. I wonder if the police officers in the station fight over who get to drives this car?

Just had one pull in front of me on a sidewalk into a public parking garage...always think of the scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off with the parking attendants driving the Ferrari when I see someone parking in a garage like that.
Maybe I should get a temp job at a garage....

We have something like that out here I don't know how often it gets used but I know the demanded one. I think the officers just wanted to drive around in one.

Here in Michigan, USA I see a lot of Mustangs as police cars. they have the lights built into the grille and set in the windows so you wouldn't even know if it was a cop creeping up behind you on the expressway.

Just Marketing :) Lamborghini gave that car for free to police for PR. I guess after that video it has been parked and never used ! At least I've never seen a car like that used in everyday jobs by italian police :)

The cops in Toronto were running a couple of stripped-down Camaro Z-28s that were basically street-legal race cars (top speed around 165 mph) but I think they have replaced them with Hemi Chargers.
Believe it or not that car was actually a gift from Lamborghini to the Italian police. A $280,000 gift... pretty nice of them huh? I could use a gift like that. :cool:

Ive seen cops with hummers in Jersey. And here in Goergia they have some new mustangs.
As for the competition as to who gets to drive it, I'll be that if you've had an accident before, you're out of the running :)

Wrong-O John. The police down in Tsawwassen, near the ferry, used to run a Dodge Stealth, though I'm not sure if they use it anymore.

John: the cops here in Vancouver have a supercharged Mini and a WRX STi as far as I know.
I've seen pictures of a Viper police car. Can't picture that being anywhere but the US ;)
Oh ya, I forgot about the WRX. But I didn't know about the blown Mini.
Definitely not comparing the two, no comparison to make there, was just saying there is something other then the usual Lincolns cruising the streets around here.
Never seen the WRX or Mini before, very cool.
The Mini was made as part of the now defunct PACER program but is a regular cop car/show car. I know the driver well as he is an active REVscene.net user and shows up at all our meets.
