Partying With The Rich & Famous At CES

written by John Chow on January 10th, 2007

Well, I didn’t get to hook up with Michael Dell again at the Dell party. The guy didn’t show up for his own reception! However, I did get to meet and party with some very famous people. Dell used the party as a way to celebrate the announcement of their new 27″ LCD display. I can’t wait to get my hands on one! Here are some photos.

I heard it took just as much wax to do create Julia Roberts’ mouth as it did the rest of her body.

Great pics, John!

Hey John, did they still have that haunted/scare house in the wax museum? That thing is freaky!! You don’t know which ones are wax and which ones are real people.

How much does it cost to bring a wax figure home with you? Oh, and is it cheaper to bring the wax figure or the LCD? ;)

At that angle, it doesn’t really look like J-Lo (I actually thought it was Maya Rudolph from SNL…but why would she get a wax figure…) but that seriously looks like Julia Roberts and Al Roker.

Al Roker is the most beliavable. Until Ed said something I thought that was real.

Those wax figures are a bit better than the ones in the Wax Museum in Victoria.

The Al Roker does look the most believable. So realistic even I was fooled.

John, did your site just get hacked? I checked johnchow.com a few moments ago and I got a pretty disturbing message.

Well, I’m glad to see everything is back to normal… Do you have any idea how they did it? It would be nice to know if I need to close any security holes on my WordPress blog.

I think wax figure Al Roker hacked the site! Did you listen to the music? That was disturbing.

That 27″ inch display wasn’t made out of wax, was it?

It’s obviously the same hacker that’s taken and still has http://www.stephenfung.net, check it out. It’s quite disturbing, must be some sort of wordpress exploit.

When first looking through the pics, I didn’t even realize they were wax. With the last pic, I just assumed that John had more pull with the celeb ladies than any of us realized.

I was almost convinced myself. It seems as if John has visited Madame Tussauds here in Vegas.

They are amazingly real, even up close.

They go into great detail to make these mannequins realistic. There’s a picture of myself going mano et mano with Sly Stallone. I was looking straight into the mannequin’s eyes, and let me tell you it was the creepiest thing ever.
