Picking Up The New Car

Today was an exciting day. Not only did I made it into the July issue of BC Business magazine but I got to pick up my new family car. Our old Acura TL was coming up on four years and that’s about the longest I keep a car. We searched high and low for a replacement to the trusted family mover but in end, we got another Acura TL. One of the deciding factor that kept me as an Acura customer was the $1,500 coupon Acura sent me.

I purchased the car yesterday. The entire sales process took about ten minutes. I don’t believe in spending hours fighting back and forth with the sale person (at least not unless I feel like it). Sarah and I went into Richmond Acura, told the salesman we wanted the TL, told him the price we were willing to pay and said, “We want it now!” Richmond Acura did everything we wanted except for giving the car to us on the spot. They needed some time to prepare the car for delivery.

Taking Delivery

Marco Wu of Richmond Acura fills out the final paper work. Sally is more interested in the red MDX. I considered getting the new MDX but I still like the ride of a car more than an SUV.

The new TL at home in the garage next to the RSX. All my previous Acuras have been black but I wanted a white one this time around. A white car isn’t very evil but I don’t need an evil family car.

Now we just have to sell the old TL. Anyone want to buy it?

Those are two great looking cars! Congrats on the new purchase, even if Sally would have preferred the MDX.

Next time you buy a car, maybe you should go for a European one and add a family vacation into the mix--many European manufacturers offer luxurious vacations that center around the purchase of a car and there are substantial savings as well. One Man. One Year. $100,000 online.

One Man, in the link that you have posted, my website is mentioned  Me and my partner own the www.edBMW.com website and I was asked to give an interview for Wall Street Journal, that's where Yahoo got their story. Anyway, it was just interesting seeing you post that link.

In some countries like Asutralia you get discount on Insurance for the white colour because it is considered as safer.

Picked a great color, white like Milk!

Now you just need to wack a spoiler on there and off you go. The exhausts look better on the newer ones too IMHO.

Maybe you could put your old car to some auction. Since you are famous you could even make money on it.

I will never have the chance to buy that cars.

Great lookin ride! Congrats on the new purchase..

I smell another income stream in the form of an Acura sponsership.

I just ordered a Infinity G37 myself so cheers to the new ride.

I see a nice opportunity to start another blog contest 'win cars with John Chow dot Com'

That is a nice car. Enjpoy it! :-)

Very nice cars, but I'm with Sally, the red one looks fun!

And red's supposed to be a lucky color, too, right?

For that price range, I would have also considered the 300C, faster (390 torque vs 233), bigger (in every way), better looking (imo) and with Mercedez technology. The 300c's fuel economy is slightly higher but with it ability to use regular gas and the Multiple Displacement System should narrow that gap.

The 300C is a very nice car but the interior looks cheap and uses way too much plastic. Love that motor however.

wow, and all that from blogging??? hehe nice choise!

I know! I was just thinking today how John Chow makes a lot of money and how people working 9-5 jobs don't even make as much as him. It's crazyyyyy.

Nice work on sticking with an Acura. After driving a 98 GS-R, and 98 1.6EL I am hooked. Time to lower that TL!! ;)

I smell a John Chow gives away an Acura contest

I suspect he has an extra acura to be given away in the next post!

Where's the Pagani Zonda?

wow! congrats for your new car!

oOoOOhh! Nice ride! I miss the acura integras.. but the TL's are awesome too. Congrats! It's been a good week for you, eh? *=)

why didn't you tell me you had an RSX ... i'm a fellow Acura Guy ... I have a 01 Type-R ... Wanna Race?

LOL

Any baby pics?

Hey! Sally has great taste in cars! hehe Congrats on the new car! That is our goal after the wedding!

I was just there at Richmond Acura yesterday! And congratulations. White isn't very evil.

Very clean, wholesome, and family-oriented indeed.

Hahaha, too bad you didn't see him. That would've been crazy ... and kind of awkward.

I know... It's funny we haven't actually met yet, considering Vancouver is an easy place to run into people.

Nice car John. You should sell your old TL to the douche bag kid that was looking for the Audi TT handout. Sell it to him for 125% over blue book and teach him how to haggle.

Nice car, I could use a new one myself!

Check out the Audi R8 in my blog!
It's awesome.

Nice ride, I'd get one too if I needed it

John is a proud dad.

Who isn't? (except people who aren't parents or have kids in Jail)

Here in Japan they say "Oyabaka" which is like crazy parent love, or obsessive parental love. My students say this about me all the time. I'm proud of it.

Who cares about the car, I want to see more baby pics!

thats pretty sweet, but not better than my noisy, old toyota camry, maybe i should post that on my site http://www.clickfornick.com

hi

congrats...

the black one in that picture looks beautiful

i would like to buy the car with my 1 year assist to you,JOHN. =D

Black is smooth and elegant!

I'll buy the themore evil  black one for 50p £ sterling.

Yeah! A Type-S would also be good.

Waw man! make a contest with the car :)

The TL is pretty sweet, why not a Type-S John? Since you are sticking with a TL, why not getting a more top of the line one?

-Swapw

The Type S is nice but it was more than we need.
