Pimp My Juice

written by John Chow on March 18th, 2006

So yesterday we went to Saigon Fusion for Paul’s welcome back home party. Saigon Fusion is a restaurant/bar/club/karaoke. It’s a very unusual mix for sure but it’s a fun place to go to. The food really isn’t that good, which is why we went to Memphis Blue for dinner and then drove over to Saigon for drinks, dance and karaoke.

While at Saigon, Steve saw a drink on the menu call Pimp Juice and had to try it. The Pimp Juice served at Saigon has nothing to do with the Pimp Juice energy drink. The Saigon Fusion Pimp Juice was inspired by the song of the same name. It’s made from 3 oz Smirnoff Green Apple Twist vodka and 6 oz 7-Up cherry soda, served over a few ice cubes in a highball glass. It was really good and our table ended ordering up a dozen of them. After a few drinks you really do feel like a pimp.

I only got in one karaoke song at Saigon. I sang Hooked On A Feeling because I watched that David Hasselhof video one time too many. Overall, it was a very fun night and we’re all glad to have Paul back in Vancouver.

John, only a few dozen you think?

I’m pretty sure our new friend Steve has some pretty fond memories of that night. That is, if the pimp juice didnt get to him first.

The drink didn’t containt Smirnoff Green Apple twist. In fact, it contained “Alize” instead, the black man’s drink of choice.
