Podcast: How Daniel Scocco Launched A $10,000 A Month Membership Site

Daniel Scocco is the creator of Daily Blog Tips and the man behind the Online Profits membership site. Daniel was the first student to take Yaro Starak’s Membership Site Mastermind course and using what he learned, launched Online Profits shortly after.

Within five days of launch, and thanks to a review by yours truly, Online Profits signed up over 200 members paying $48 per month. This created an almost $10,000 per month income stream. Not bad, huh?

Daniel had a chance to sit down with Yaro Starak to do a 43 minute long podcast about his membership site. I recommend you grab a drink and then give it a listen. Some of the highlights include:

  • How Daniel attracted members and how much money he made during his launch
  • How Daniel selected the topic for his membership site
  • What Daniel did to demonstrate the preeminence of his membership site offer
  • Daniel talks about how he drove traffic to his membership site launch
  • How Daniel managed to get some top launch partners for his membership site
  • What technical systems Daniel set up to deliver his membership site
  • How Daniel conducted his five day launch and generated a $10,000/month income stream
  • Why Daniel recommends Membership Site Mastermind

  1. Just another proof about how much useful Yaro’s program is.

I know Daniel’s history since long time ago, it must be feel good to open a membership site and getting 200 sign ups within the first five days!

    Thanks for the post John.

    1. EarningStep says:

yeah… really a powerful stuff i think . i know yako did a really wonderful job with his membership making money program . he really know how to attract people and sign up to his program.. wonderful man

      1. Dear Jeandsen – he is Yaro not Yako … typo πŸ˜€

      2. Benjamin Cip says:

Well, I have no hard time believe that people who knows well what they want are going to succeed… it would be more interesting to see how many student of Yaro Starak’s membership site are failing to succeed, to understand the succeed and failing rate.

        1. Jose says:

I agree. Although the program seems to be promising and I would love to take it, at least the blog mastermind one, I really don’t have the money to pay for it lol.

But I would really like to see how many of the students fail out of the ones that succeed. Cuse it is awesome to know that it works, but it is also good to know if it is more the ones that succeed than the one that dont.

Although, if some people can succeed by taking the program, we might be able to agree that others that don’t, are because they are doing something wrong…

          1. With Yaro being from down under, the new FTC laws about testimonials don’t cover him. I too would also be interested in seeing what the “typical” results are.

One problem with “typical” results is that it doesn’t always take into account who actually followed the program, and who gave up before the ball really got rolling.

At this point until I see more testimonials, I don’t think I can justify the money yet. Once they can point to a lot more successful examples or have typical result data, I’ll be more willing to drop the cash.

          2. Well if you spend that amount of money to leave the program before it finishes… You would be a [email protected]#~& !!

Unless asking for a refund, of course. But what’s the point?

          1. Benjamin Cip says:

For paying that amount of money, I guess that member are taking it seriously, unless they have money to fire. What is strange is that he has about 200 members, and we only get a few testimonial. I’m working on a membership site that will make everyone sucessful for sure. It’s not a scam, and my idea is genuine. Just need more business partners before making it live. I have participated to many membership site so far, so I know what people are looking for, and what these membership site are lacking.

          2. Lee Ka Hoong says:

Sounds great! Let me know once your membership site has been launched, I’m interested to take a look.

What kind of business partners you’re looking for?

    2. Nanovor game says:

200 signs up in the first day is impressive and definitely whets your appetite for more. Great success Daniel

    3. That’s really an awesome initial signup. I wonder how many of those people were already regular readers of DBT.

Unless this site was launched after Daily Blog Tips, Daniel already had a pretty solid following. I’m curious how well this program will work for someone who is just starting or doesn’t have a huge following yet.

Membership sites seem to build on themselves. The more people who sign up, the more popular they are and the more likely other people will sign up. I imagine it is pretty tough for new bloggers to build as quick as Daniel did.

  2. Yes, Daniel Scocco is a successful online entrepreneur now and he has learned his trick from master mentor Yaro

    1. Benjamin Cip says:

That’s what we call the ” cynderilla’s story” method. Which works perfectly πŸ™‚

      1. Benj we are not getting any latest post from you in your blog. Quite busy ??

        1. Benjamin Cip says:

I’m getting busy with my project about creating an out of the box membership site, but I posted a new post today… my blog is far from being dead, don’t worry.

    2. It just goes to show that there is some serious value in Yaro’s offering. Not many people have case stgudies like this to support their claims! Excellent stuff!

      1. Benjamin Cip says:

I have learnt affiliate marketing for long, and keep learning new stuff online. I went throught some of Yaro’s products and I don’t have bad nor positive opinion about it. I’ve seen both better and worst products. I can now create my own membership site which will cover everything other membership site are lacking. Don’t misunderstand me, I respect Yaro, and have been reading his blog even before he got famous.

    3. Lee Ka Hoong says:

In the beginning, I thought Daniel and Yaro at the same level, now I know it was Yaro who guided Daniel to create his membership site. πŸ™‚

  3. Wow seems to me that everyone is after the membership based website.

    – Yaro
    – Dareen
    and now Daniel as well.

John when you are going to join this league ?

    1. Membership based websites are nothing new. Copyblogger (Brian Clark) has one of the highest selling membership courses around (Teaching Sells) which I hear is a great program although WAY more expensive.

I would be interested to hear if John is considering a membership site.. Honestly, it just doesn’t seem like his style.

Membership sites are more proper and structured… John is an evil REBEL blogger πŸ™‚

      1. Benjamin Cip says:

I already experienced those membership site (except darren’s one) with some business partners, and we are about to create a better membership site soon, where you’ll be able to earn money from it. I won’t talk about it in details now, but you’ll certainly see it on John Chow once it will be live.

  4. joe says:

Well, the attrition rate after one month is often like 50%…

  5. Schwabe says:

Damn that crow is annoying ! πŸ™‚

Good insights. This was a really productive discussion, thanks.

  6. Xof says:

Well, the signup page says 60 days money back guarantee!

    1. Benjamin Cip says:

That’s a good marketing point, usually products are 30 days money back guarantee.

      1. Anchor Text says:

Looks like someone didn’t read Yaro’s free ebook.

    2. Still it’s money back guaranteed, plus a $1K review to boost your membership site.

What more could you ask? πŸ™‚

  7. Daniel is a seasoned internet pro, not everyone will have results like he did. That said, the membership program is definitely worthwhile, just not so sure about $1000 valuable.

  8. fas says:

I am sure he earns more then that from DBT.

    1. What advertising does DBT has that would make it earn more?

His mailing list rarely includes affiliate ads and his on site ads are minimal. Half the time he has Adsense for his skyscraper.

I’m not saying he doesn’t make great money, but I don’t get the impression DBT is as big of a cash cow as Johnchow.com

  9. Boy I do not like his computer table … all LCD are so close. I like Darren or Amit Agarwal table. Neat and clean …

See here Darren Table – http://jacovox.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/escritorios/problogger.jpg

See here Amit Agarwal Table – http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3059/2824560676_86c942f2c0_b.jpg

    1. Benjamin Cip says:

I have a simillar Macintosh as Darren Rowse, except mine is in black and grey… (new design with black apple)

    2. Lee Ka Hoong says:

It’s really important to keep our table as neat as possible because it may affect your performance. I use laptop and put it on the table, but both sides of my laptop full of other stuff, I’ll need to clean it shortly.

Amit Agarwal’s table seems clean and nice, looks like a boss in a company, lol!

  10. Dan says:

Looks like a great blog. But spelling errors don’t do it justice.
For example, you write “within five days of lunch.” Do you mean he took everyone out to lunch five days before, or do you mean “launch”? You should hire me to proofread your blog.

    1. Benjamin Cip says:

I noticed that “mistakes” as well, but didn’t give it much attention. Maybe john mispelled it on purpose to check whether we are reading his post or not…. *just kidding*

  11. Lee Ka Hoong says:

Daniel is really doing a great job on his membership site. He did a great job as well as Yaro.

John, seems that you help them a lot since you offer great prizes for people who signs up under your affiliate link, get 2 sponsored reviews in your blog for free is definitely worth the price. πŸ™‚

  12. Hey John,

Thanks for sharing the success story of Daniel. The podcast was really motivating and inspiring.

I would love to join Yaro’s MSM. And will surely do it through your link.

  13. Sounds like the review here on your blog worked out for him in a big time way.

  14. videostar says:

I like to read any success story and feel sincere joy for everyone who has reached his goal.Hehe you also can see your ways.

  15. Danny says:

John you really did a great job for Daniel. Congrats and God Bless You.
