ProBlogger the Book 2nd Edition – Available Today!

My good friend and fellow professional blogger, Darren Rowse, has released the 2nd edition of his Problogger book. You can get it now at Amazon.com. If you read the first edition (I have it on Kindle) then you should enjoy the new edition.

While it’s not a complete rewrite, Darren and Chris have added enough new content to the second edition to make it worth buying, especially if you never bought the original. Some of the new stuff includes:

  • There have been many many small updates and changes throughout the book. New examples, screenshots, updates of new tools, a few deletions of references to old tools, an update to our stories in the intro etc.
  • They’ve removed a chapter on blog networks – things have changed a lot in this space and many networks are not hiring any more or have changed their models significantly.
  • Chris has added a fairly significant chapter on social media and how it impacts and can be used by bloggers
  • Darren have added a case study chapter that goes through the first 4 years of his main blog – Digital Photography School. He work through how he launched it, what he focused upon in years 1-2 and then in years 3-4, how he monetize it and share the secrets to how he drive significant traffic and income through email newsletters, social media etc.
  • Bonuses – they’re offering anyone who buys the book a series of bonuses (some interviews with successful bloggers, some extra teaching etc)

Problogger cost $16.95 direct Amazon.com. If your book order totals $25 or more, shipping is free. I recommend you combine Problogger with my book, Make Money Online – Roadmap of a Dot Com Mogul to qualify for the free shipping. My book ships on May 1. Problogger ships today. Enjoy reading!

Even though Amazon is listing May 1 as the ship date for our book, it seems that people are already receiving them. Amazon broke street date!

  2. John, have you actually read the 2nd edition? I am asking because you seem to just to repeat the sales pitch I received by email. I would be interested to read a real review by somebody, not just a regurgitating of sales messages, SY

    1. I never even read the first edition…does anyone know if it was any good?

      Hi SY,

I have bought both Darren’s and John’s book and received them today.

After I read the books if I like them I’ll blog about them.

Just leafing through John’s book first and then Darren’s, I’d say that they are worth reading.

As I commented on Darren’s blog I was a bit shocked that inside his book everything is in black and white like it would be 30 years ago. But he does have some pictures in it.

I don’t recall any pictures in John’s book which is about $10 cheaper than Darren’s and has about 50 pages less.

But John has a very different approach and perspective than Darren which is also why I bought both books.

I have stopped buying real book almost altogether but I felt I didn’t want to miss on these two. And I bought one more book just to get the free shipping.

Dear Irish Garden, assuming that you are referring an email pitch NOT by John, could it be possible that that is a generally received synopsis of the book..? But also, could it be that whatever John summarized is ECHOED in the email pitch because of general feedback?

Either ways, John, how would you recommend it as opposed to reading the high-quality eBook that you giveaway? I’ve learnt tons of things from your ebook and I’m still implementing things that you spoke of in your ebook.

    1. Dear Nigel, yes I received an email pitch from somebody other then John, I think it was even from Darren himself, pretty much with the same wording. I agree, John’s free ebook here is extremely good value and I would, like you, love to see a review comparing the two. SY

  4. Kevin Tran says:

Thanks for the info. I’ll order it soon

    1. I am thinking of buying it!

    1. I answered above, not sure why you posted the same comment twice? SY

    1. Agreed. One of the great things about following internet marketers isn’t just the direct advice they give, but watching them work.

The first thing I thought at the end of this post was, great move connecting it to your own book! I really think, in addition to great content, it’s little things like these, done again and again, that really start adding up.

  6. It is really awesome book. Can’t wait to grab my copy.
    thanks

    1. Same here! Even I can’t wait, but have to arrange some money!

  7. That’s a clever pitch, getting both books to qualify for free shipping 😉

What I do find interesting is that both of you used an RSS Feed button as you primary graphic on the front cover of your books. Synchronicity at its finest! Gotta love it!

  8. You mean that this is not an ebook?

  9. Lee Ka Hoong says:

Darren just sent out an email for his subscribers about the launch of his ebook. I just about to order the book, I’ll buy your book to get the free shipping offer too John.

That might be a good combination of ebook from powerful blogger like you guys John!

    Regards,
    Lee

  10. What a coincidence!

Before I read this post today, I have purchased these 2 books from amazon yesterday and will be delivered to me by 2 May 2010.

Shall read and learn from you guys

  11. Darren Rowse says:

Thanks for the link John and to your readers who’ve been buying it. It’s been a busy day or two with the launch of the 2nd edition and those who’ve gotten their copies already are feeding back very nice things.

Appreciate the link and think our books will make a nice combo offer 🙂

      Hi Darren,

I just posted a comment on your blog about having received both books, yours and John’s today.

While ordering John’s book I saw yours on Amazon and couldn’t resist buying both.

If I may suggest so, please make the next edition color and not just black and white.

      Vance

  13. Will these books be available in an audiobook format? Plllllleeeease….

    1. I don’t think so! But just pass your wish to Darren and he will fulfill your wish I guess!

  14. Free Picks says:

thanks for the 2nd edition John

  15. I can’t wait for the ebook version to hit warez/sharing sites.. 🙂

    1. That’s not good! ;-(

  16. Apple says:

I wonder if it’s better to get the ebook, or the real book …
Both worth it, but I think I’ll go with the ebooks.
