written by John Chow
I wonder how long this will go on? Here is batch number 11 of the review my blog for a free linkback reviews. I already got five reviews for batch number 12 so another five and we’ll be at batch number lucky 13. I have to admit, this has been my best link baiting stunt yet.

Not only will you get traffic, but you’ll get a linkback from a blog that is ranked 892 most popular on Technorati. The full rules for the review for linkback are here.

did you get the review i wrote john?

Yes I got it. It’ll be part of the 12th batch.
5 already for 12th batch?
hi john. i did a review of your site on my blog. thanks
I can’t decide if I want my review listed under my name or under the blog’s name, “Beyond the Rhetoric”. What do you think is a better idea, John?
I chose your name because you’re the brand.
Fully agree with you - its always better to use the ‘name of the blogger’ than the blog title
Sounds good.
I’ve been torn over whether I should be promoting my main site (freelance writing services) or my blog (direct monetization). But it’s easier to “see” the blog from the main site than vice versa.
I would agree. If I were a reader (wait, I am), I would like to see a main site and have a choice of where to go from all of your sites. Simpler to navigate. But then again, two sites might have nothing to do with eachother, in which case does it make sens to have them connected at all?
They’re connected in the sense that they’re both me and they’re both “about” writing. :p
Another lovely batch, it’s nice to see you’re still this hot John, hopefully it’ll also help your Technorati rank some.
Yea. Too bad you have to have a certain level of popularity before you can make this work. Otherwise I be doing the same thing.
I’m impressed, too. I guess everyone wants to be a dot com mogul.
So we should start making bets to how many batches there will be. I’m betting 20
Hmm .. that is interesting - I would go with 15 !
Nah, I say 17.5. There will be a handfull that won’t make a full batch. But if it goes without an end date, there will be many more actually. People will read through the blogs and see that they get a linkback from such a popular site.
Hi John,
Please let me know how was my review.
Cheers!
I got your review. It will be in the next batch.
Yay there’s my post!
Hey John - You are climbing up the Technorati ranking ladder pretty fast - 919 to 892 from the previous review list to now !
Might be interesting to see how your ‘review me’ bait worked for your ranking - Where have you climbed from the 1st review to the 11th one that you just posted.
Agreed its not directly linked to the links from other blogs but am sure that’s a great contributor !
That sounds like an awesome idea.
John you should make a post about it.
I finally got the PayPerPost review money into my PayPal account today !
congrats!! are you pleased with how it works? do you recommend it to others?
Atleast I have not used the PayPerPost opportunities in the last few weeks. But I would say its worth trying out !
There hasnt been anything recently that I found intersting enough to blog about for PPP. The ones that looked at least a bit interesting required a PR of 3+ and I’m only 2.
do you find it worth the time though tyler? from past experiences as long as there is an interesting topic?
I’m planning on it, but I have to wait for the 90 day window to be over…this sux! I guess I’ll be on the sideline for a few more weeks.
It’s been great to see all of the responses to you contest John. It’s been a great way to expose your blog to all kinds of new readerships.
I’ve received enough reviews for a 12th batch now. All new reviews will go on batch 13.
I have a feeling these reviews are never going to end. As John gets more exposure, newbies to his blog will want a linkback, and they’ll tell their blogging friends about it, and so on. Easily the most genius link-bait scheme you’ve ever had, John.
