Are these all under the name “name your own link” format?

    1. John Chow says:

No. These were sent in before the rules were changed.

      1. Do any of the regular JohnChow readers actually care about reading these offsite reviews any more? I was done after the first batch. I never visit the other sites to check the reviews.

Wes… DVD Rental Service community! Blu-ray, HD DVD and more!

        1. Brendan says:

          I dont read them.

        2. David says:

I generally check them out, I’ve found a few good sites from them. I always try to support up and coming sites, because I have one myself.

        3. Matthew says:

Ive read a few, not anymore.

        4. Babak says:

I skim them and only read the more interesting ones. Usually there isn’t a lot of effort or creativity involved.

fwiw, John’s sent me 8 readers so far from my review link. But the truth is that I would have written the review anyway sooner or later since I enjoy his blog.

Lets not forget the love in all this people!

        5. Nenad Ristic says:

I generally skim through them, and click on any blog titles that sound like they might be interesting.

Also, remember that in addition to the occasional click, all the reviewers should be getting some nice Google Juice out of it, especially with the new rules.

          1. Jonix says:

I agree nenad, a very nice google juice!

        6. I guess it’s a pick or selection from a few. In this way, I actually discovered some interesting sites which I would not have discovered in any other ways too.

Awesome! Dang, this is working so well for you!

  3. HMTKSteve says:

I may have a new review headed your way. Possibly this weekend…

  4. Mubin says:

DaMN I’m stuck at batch 34! Get posting John!

  5. HMTKSteve says:

Now that I have actually written a few more reviews I am finding that it is hard reviewing web sites. Especially the bad ones…

  6. Gary Lee says:

    I’m guessing i’m batch 35 . . . . i can live with that 🙂

  7. Chris says:

I usually at least try to check the site out. I def. don’t read all of the reviews. Maybe one out of a batch I will actually read.

  8. Erik says:

John, do you even read them anymore? Lol you evil man. 😈

    1. I guess he does. 😀 What’s more satisfying than reading reviews of your site?

      1. Erik says:

Pretty satisfying. But then how about reading 10 of them a day? how about 20? 😥 😥

  9. Justin Slife says:

Do you track the clicks on these sites? How many people actually click on the links in these posts?

    1. Erik says:

Doesn’t matter. He wants keyword popularity. The review itself advertises the blog.

  10. carl says:

Sorry for asking, does this mean if I review john chow’s blog he we give me a link back like the ones above?

    1. Yes, he does, so long as your review is as according to his review rules. There’s no cap on numbers!

  11. To get people to click on the review links you should implement some sort of door prize – have a fake review and if people click on it then say the first 10 people get added to a draw for a prize.

But I’m not sure what would be in it for you… you’d be slightly less evil?
