When reading the comments in The Reviews Are Coming In post, I noticed quite a few blogs were not able to review my blog because they didn’t meet the PayPerPost requirements of being at least 90 days old. However, I also noticed a few blogs posted a review anyway - even though they won’t get paid for it. That got me thinking about a review for linkback exchange.

The concept is simple - review my blog and I’ll link to your review. The review must be at least 200 words long and you have to include a link to the blog home page and this post. You are free to link to any other posts as well. You are to be completely honest with the review - state what you like and don’t like about the site. It doesn’t matter what categories your blog covers and it doesn’t have to be in English. I will accept all reviews.

Once the review is done, send me an email with the URL to your review. After a half dozen reviews or so, I’ll make a post like I did in The Reviews Are Coming In with links to all the reviews.

This deal may not be as sweet as the PayPerPost deal where you’ll get a linkback and $5.00 but for the new blog with no PageRank and no backlinks, this is your chance to get some much needed exposure and receive a linkback from a blog that is ranked 1,529 on Technorati.

Best Review Wins A MiniTV USB

usbtv.jpg

To give you a little incentive to write high quality content, I’m offering a MiniTV USB from ADS Tech to the blogger who posts the best review. This cool little device is the size of a USB flash drive and turns any notebook or PC into a full blown PVR TV. You can watch TV, schedule TV recordings, record TV shows to CD or DVD, and time shift live TV.

Even without the prize, I recommend you do your best review possible. Remember, your review will be read by a lot of readers and they will be commenting on it. Their comments will help me decide which blog to give the prize to. This is your chance to show off the quality of your blog.

Good luck, have fun and I look forward to reading the reviews.

[...] JohnChow.com is a wealth of information for someone who is interested in Blogging and technology in general. He keeps the Blog from being sterile by personal posts, such as his daughter Sally’s 100th day celebration or his SOHO party. The pictures on his site are good quality from the corvette on the front page to John himself at a dinner party. He recently had asked for reviews of his site in his Dec 21st post, and I figured this was a chance that I could repay him for some of the help he has given me. His site is set up on a Wordpress Blog using a customized theme. It is very easy to maneuver and very well organized with the categories of his posts along the right side. I normally get bored with Tech blogs because they get monotonous, but John puts just enough mix in the topics to keep me coming back daily. [...]

[...] I’m sure many of you have heard about John Chow. He is self-proclaimed dot com mogul and his primary cashcow is his TechZone website. In addition, he also has a personal blog aptly named John Chow dot com. In the few days leading up to Decemeber 21, 2006, Mr. Chow requested paid reviews of his blog using PayPerPost Inc. services. Due to some technical difficulties that reviewers were having, Mr. Chow extended this option to all bloggers and readers of his personal blog. To give you an idea of how popular his blog is, it is ranked 1, 529 on Technorati out of at least 2.2 million claimed blogs. In addition, his blog is one of the most widely read blogs on the Internet. As an added incentive to all writers who are not participating through PayPerPost, Mr. chow is offering a chance for the writers’ blog to be linked by his blog and a chance for the best reviewer to win an ADS Tech MiniTV USB. After the enticing offers, I decided to write my own review of Mr. Chow’s personal blog. [...]

[...] Third, I thought what Jeremy and others have made via the Internet were really incredible. Of course it all dependents on so many factors such as, how much time are you going to put in, how are you going to slant your site, etc. You can find all these factors described in one of John Chow’s article cited above and John will help to promote your site too if you you know how. However, my point is, there is a possibility to make money here. I saw so many technical sites in various fields on the Internet, some have already utilized the adsense and other affiliate programs, such as Heavens-above, CalSKY, just to name a few in the same techical field as mine,… but many have done nothing in that direction at all. I think a link to John Chow’s  “The Internet’s biggest Google Whores” page  may surprised them. I hope! [...]

[...] Imagine an online resource, made by a Webmaster for Webmasters in which you could access some of the most forthright and understandable opinions of a proven entrepreneur. To be precise, a Dot Com Mogul named John Chow, who kindly contributes his experience and knowledge to the upcoming community of Webmasters, particularly those with a selfish (of course!) interest in matter of fact advice on SEO and Adsense optimisation. Although I’m reviewing JohnChow.com subjectively in response to his recent offer, I’ve been intending to write about his blog now for a while as I feel it offers genuine support to analytical entrepreneurs and webmasters alike. I personally encountered John’s blog about three months ago, and have truly enjoyed his diversified and regular posting of articles from Fine Dining to Internet, and Cars to Agloco. John Chow’s blog has an impeccable mixture of useful advice whilst offering an insight into the day-to-day life of a Dot Com Mogul. I find this particularly engaging, as I’m always keen to see how online entrepreneurs live, and how these lifestyles differ from other, more traditional entrepreneurs. The frequency of his posts is commendable in that his readers are always able to find fresh and interesting content, making JohnChow.com an absolute must for any budding or established entrepreneurs. Another commendable feature of John’s blog is the quality of his articles; my main criticism of most rival websites is the way in which they avoid divulging straightforward advice on useful subjects such as Adsense placement and optimisation. John, however, provides an absorbing combination of both theoretical advice and hands on tips. I believe this has played a major role in the success of JohnChow.com Aside from the content, the blog is pleasantly navigable as he categorises all posts and even provides a Top Posts section, offering hassle free access to the highest quality posts within JohnChow.com. Additionally, I like the selection of his banner image, an attractive blue Corvette, an incentive if ever one was needed! Although the focus of my review is the John’s blog, I must also comment on his friendly and helpful nature, the contact form on his site will allow anyone to ask for his advice and plainly, he’s a guy who truly qualifies as a Dot Com Mogul. His willingness to aid other Webmasters provides an inspiration to me at least, and I’m sure it will have the same effect on any other inquisitive entrepreneurs. Click here to visit JohnChow.com! [...] Marketing uses hooks to get people interested to explore more. Good marketers’ hooks are subtle and natural. Great marketer’s hooks are such that even if you know it’s a hook you will still take it. For example, currently John is doing an experiment of “Review My Blog“. He started as an advertiser to buy paid review; in return he will link back for these reviewers. Getting a link from John’s site helps driving traffic, which is a strong incentive for all of us new bloggers. However, having just setup my site for about two weeks, I do not qualify to do a paid review, but I was going to write a review anyways. His marketing sense told him this is a good idea, because he quickly follows the experiment up with running a contest for getting more reviews. For him it is win-win, because as others generate content about him, it will increase more awareness for him as well. That’s the Zen of marketing. There is a lot to learn [...]
