SEO Link Building Made Easy with The HOTH

written by Michael Kwan on November 21, 2012

I'm Jim Chao, B**ch!

Since the beginning, link building has been one of the most important cornerstones of any search engine optimization (SEO) campaign. However, the changes brought upon by the Panda and Penguin updates from Google have thrown a wrench into much of this thinking, placing a greater emphasis on usability and higher quality content. Conventional link farms are far more likely to get punished than they are to get rewarded.

SEO link building can be a time-consuming, challenging, and frustrating experience, which is why it is oftentimes a better idea to consider outsourcing the task instead. The HOTH offers an aggressive and multi-faceted link building strategy that will help propel your site to the top of the search engines. And no, there does not appear to be any relation to the Star Wars frozen planet. Let’s get down to today’s review and see what they’re all about.

Outsourced SEO Link Building

Now in its third iteration, The HOTH provides aggressive outsourced SEO link building for agencies and publishers. They bring experience from running over 7000 campaigns and it all works within a system that is meant to mimic authentic viral content on the Internet.

You can learn more about The HOTH and how it works by reading through the tour, but the main idea here is that the links aren’t being built haphazardly. Instead, they start with a super-spun article that is then redistributed to multiple web properties, building up the value, and directing the links back toward your target website using your target keywords.

The HOTH takes care of everything, so all you have to do is provide your keywords and your URLs. They handle the entire process as a comprehensive package, but perhaps we should take a look at exactly what you get and how it all works.

The HOTH Structure

The link building strategy offered by The HOTH takes on a very specific structure.

As mentioned, this starts with what they call a “super spun” article. Rather than using automatic article spinners, the articles are actually written and then spun by our writers so it’s 100% original content, not plagiarized content with edits. The spun articles are then posted on WordPress blogs, Blogspot blogs, and Squidoo lenses. These are meant to be higher authority sites and they are all managed by The HOTH.

From there, a series of secondary web properties link back to these authority articles, providing supporting social bookmarks and supporting profile links, as well as article submissions to different directories. After completing the multi-layer link structure, the Authority Module begins a randomized slow drip of the content over 100s of sites for the following 3 weeks. The result is a steady inflow of links to the clients site, and not a sudden, unnatural uptick.. As such, the campaign is virtually undetectable by Google.

US College Educated Copywriting Team

One of the biggest points of feedback received from HOTH customers is that they wanted higher quality content for the articles. While you could save some money and still opt for the HOTH writing team in the Phillipines, there is also the HOTH Plus+ optional upgrade where you get access to the US college-educated content team.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the types of articles you can expect from the US and Filipino teams, respectively. They both adhere to the content standards laid out by The HOTH, but the general quality of the US writing team will likely be better. All content is 100% unique, semantically relevant, readable and optimized with supporting images, videos and multimedia.

The HOTH is quick to point out that this content is purely for SEO link building purposes and “is not your PR or social media content. It’s just semantically relevant content that we create and link to your website from as a relevant source. This way, our content remains natural and informational, not spammy or advertorial.”

How Much Does It Cost?

There are currently four packages being offered by The HOTH, two of which come from the standard Filipino content team and the other two from the US college-educated content team.

The Mini plan–$60 or $100–includes one super-spun article with up to 3 URLs and 5 keywords per URL. Bump that up to the $200 or $350 HOTH Results plan and you get five super-spun articles with over five times the number of links you’d get with the Mini plan. These are not monthly plans, so you can buy as many or as few packages as you’d like. If you spend over $1000 a month (which is pretty easy if you are an SEO agency of some kind), you can join the bulk buyer program for a 12.5% discount on all orders.
