I don’t think that is will be dead soon. Graham is doing a great job with press and I am sure the bigger press will metion his site. When this happen then the competition begins with the pages. Then hopefully after a year they will be ranked well if Graham puts his efforts on it and not doing what one million dollar site (or page, whatever) did.

In my opinion buying a page there will be good to practice your marketing skills and SEO skills. Yea, it’s not a big investment. A lot of SEO ‘get ranking fast’ schemes tout buying tons of domains at 9 bucks a pop and building links and hours upon hours of work for negligable gains sometimes.
Im not personally a fan of the wiki, as more people jump on, the site will grow bigger, but the way the site is laid out is going to mean really shitty pagerank for all wiki pages.
