Shout Out To Sponsors

written by John Chow on July 30, 2007

How one lazy bum made $176,697.50

I like to take this time to thank all the sponsors of John Chow dot Com. There dollars helps to pay all the bill around here. OK, we don’t have any bills but you get the idea. These sponsors support this blog and deserve your support as well.

BlueFur – Web Host Sponsor

Thanks to BlueFur Web Hosting for supplying the new dual-core Xeon server that houses this blog. BlueFur is also sponsoring this month’s contest to give away a 24″ LCD monitor. If you haven’t entered yet, better get to it. Tomorrow is the deadline for entries.

Search Engine Guide – Premium Ad Sponsor

Search Engine Guide is a daily read for me. This is one of the best site of its kind on the Net. The site is edited by Jennifer Laycock, who is known for her down–to–earth style of teaching and a special focus on educating small business owners. She is author of “The Small Business Guide to Search Engine Marketing” and the free “Zero Dollars, a Little Bit of Talent and 30 Days” series.

Our Text Link Advertisers

I like to welcome SEOTips4U.com, Host Color, Louis Vuitton, Jumbo Affiliates and Darin.cc as new text link sponsors. Darin is also running some “John Chow Rocks” Google sitematch ads on the this blog as well. Pretty creative. Thanks to the other text link sponsors.

Thanks to all the advertisers who purchased post level text links as well. All my site wide text links are sold out. However, I have many post level links available. See Text Link Ads for more information. Here’s a $100 coupon you can use.

I’d like to be a sponsor soon too John. Just be patient. I’m getting there, surely. I just need to establish my blog and then boom. Perhaps I will be a sponsor here also and I wish I will have a lot of sponsors on my blogadollar too.

Yay for sponsors! They pay the bills! *=)

Mybloggo July 30, 2007 at 8:24 pm

And extra pocket money

Chuck Brown July 30, 2007 at 6:34 pm

I like Jennifer Laycock’s stuff as well.

A good stream of creative topics coming out of that site. I don’t love the fact that you can’t comment on the articles, though.

And she also lives in Columbus like I do…so that automatically makes her cool. ;-)

car news guy July 30, 2007 at 6:38 pm

Yes, most definitely yes…

Angel July 30, 2007 at 6:39 pm

I’d like to thank Bob Cobb for having a great name. It was so great that I decided to check his website out.

dcr July 30, 2007 at 7:05 pm

So, there is a benefit to being to first to comment!

Mybloggo July 30, 2007 at 8:21 pm

Hard to be the first

ForumeR August 1, 2007 at 12:30 pm

Yeaaa, there’s a time when i think i’m the first , but after i post comment, then i looked there is person as the first :)

dcr July 30, 2007 at 7:04 pm

Excellent tactic. They get the benefit of their regular ads, plus a shout-out. You really are evil.

Ronaldo Camacho July 30, 2007 at 7:37 pm

By doing this John also gives them a good reason to renew their sponsorship.

Mybloggo July 30, 2007 at 8:03 pm

Ya…..an evil way

Hihi

Jim Leedham July 30, 2007 at 7:05 pm

Lol @ Angel’s last comment.

Also it’s awesome to see your sponsor love John. I know a lot of webmasters just treat sponsors as random people who they never interact with or give a damn about, so long as they give them money. But a good relationship with sponsors is always a good thing to have :)

Mybloggo July 30, 2007 at 8:05 pm

Ya totally agree

Investorblogger July 30, 2007 at 7:41 pm

This is a great way to thank advertisers. Glad John does this now!

Your sponsors must be getting loads of hits from your site, so I’m sure they are getting their money’s worth.

I’m still trying to rake in a few sponsors

No sponsor at my blog!!!

Wahlau.NET July 30, 2007 at 7:49 pm

wow..nearly forgot about this 24″ LCD contest

Ronaldo Camacho July 30, 2007 at 8:11 pm

Me too. If John didn’t remind us about it, I would be out of this one. And this is not a contest you wanna be out of.

Mybloggo July 30, 2007 at 8:01 pm

Great Post

Nathan Roe July 30, 2007 at 8:19 pm

I need to work on my sponsors, but as for the ones I have…I love them

Johnny July 30, 2007 at 9:04 pm

I’m new to blogging but wanted to stop in and say Thank You to the Guru.

Always a good idea to give sponsors some love!

ForumeR August 1, 2007 at 11:51 am

When the sponsors want to sponsor my blog too?? hehe. Anyone know which Social boomark site gives more visitors?? :)

ForumeR August 1, 2007 at 3:01 pm

Talking about sponsors, can i ask one question about review me?? Do we can just submit 1 blog in there?? And i dont understand yet with the procedure of it, i’m one of John’s referral too, please xplain to me how i’m gonna make a review with review me.

I was made once before, but still not get earning, and they don;t inform me whether it was rejected or not. I really not understand how to use it :?:

Webmaster Money August 4, 2007 at 7:08 pm

Could you give try to http://www.webmaster-money.org/out_MediaText.html this site. I will be more than happy if you use that referral link.
MediaText is looking for high volume sites. And they have their own advertisers so there is no middle man. So it is promissing higher profits than other contextual networks.

Michael Fultz August 6, 2007 at 11:17 pm

They are wonderful folks, though, I’ve looked at all of their sites..
