Make Money!

Vancouver 2010

We headed down to Robson Square in downtown Vancouver today to pick up my Olympic hockey tickets. I was lucky enough to secure a dozen tickets to the China Vs. Finland game. While I could have picked up the tickets at the will call booth on game day, Sarah wanted to pick them up before the big game.

Downtown was buzzing with Olympic excitement. I haven’t seen the city this excited in a long time. Unfortunately, the line up to pick up tickets was over two hours long. Fortunately, I found someone who lined up for me. This allowed me and the family to check out the sights and sound of Vancouver 2010. The next 16 days are going to be awesome! See you at the games!

That's awesome that you got tickets to a hockey game, and even more awesome that the entrepreneur in you came out by subcontracting out the waiting in line part!

You got some amazing pics out there John. I have been so busy that i couldnt keep up! thanks for the share, looking forward to more. BTW: are you planning to check out all of the games?

Boy these people really have great time.

5 Hrs standing to wait for a 20 seconds ride and 2 hrs to get a ticket.

They can use that time to more productive work which can roll economy more fast.

Sally steal the show of these photos.

Nice footage, John. Looks like a great atmosphere out there. The Opening Ceremonies on Friday were stellar! :)

Just watching it on tv makes me want to be there. It makes great viewing. Sounds like Vancouver has come alive

Here's my video of me ziptrekking across Robson Square. You might say it's the Spiderman point-of-view.

Cool video! But you should also taken a video of the actual ziptrek thing and other people riding it..

There has been a lot of controversy about the luger who died from the country Georgia. Regardless of what people think, he deserves to be recognized as the IOC did. His teammates should be praised for continuing. Isn't there supposed to be snow there?

John, every time I visit your blog I get jealous. I call myself the traveling travel agent because I like to be on the go. However, I am not on the go because of finances. Hopefully, my blog will pick up soon. Thanks for your previous advice as all my ads should be about traveling. I hope your enjoying Vancouver as you seem to be.

Vancouver is the most happening and beautiful place of world.

John picked the right place.

Great post John! Vancouver is awesome today, and your pictures are really nice .

The Olympics are really important. Even Google home page talks about Canada and the Olympics.

Well, what *doesn't* Google home page talk about? They have a new logo just about every week it seems!

Looking forward to watching some of the winter olympics this year. Not usually a fan but it has caught my eye this year.

The scenes a major sporting event like this can evoke is just awesome to behold. South Africa is hosting the football world cup in a couple of months time, and I am really looking forward to the festivities!

That would be one hell of an event to attend.

Will Canada win a gold medal at home?!

That's not even a question!
Hockey for Canada is baseball for Americans!

What a great time to be in Vancouver. It's unbelievable to see everyone so festive, dressed in red and really spirited. I'm grateful to be a Canadian, a Vancouverite and a Yaletowner.

Never been to Vancouver - definitely going to make it a point in 2010 to visit!

Vancouver is awesome today. The spirit and pride of all nations.
Waiting for nice photo from you.

Hi John! Who do you think is gonna win Gold medals in hockey? Go Canada?

Canada is going to win, of course!

That's a no-brainer. But keep in mind the Russians have won the last two gold medals and they are strong. I'm predicting Canada-Russia in the finals.

If that will be the case than this is going to be very entertaining match.

This blog post also predicted Canada-Russia in the finals:

That is the life!

btw, you have a cute baby there.

Nice, got some good pics. I plan on taking a stroll downtown soon to take in some of the events. Cheers

But this one is really looking like as cloudy day.

Let us know when you get your pics up, I'd like to see them. Do you have a flickr page?

Seriously, I still can't figure out what the hell our terrible looking mascot is supposed to be!

Which one? Quatchi is a Sasquatch, Miga is a sea bear (part orca, part kermode bear), Sumi is mostly a Thunderbird (with black bear legs and orca hat), and Mukmuk is a Vancouver Island marmot.

Which 2010 Olympic Mascot Are You?
