Solving Rubik’s Cube

written by John Chow on December 7th, 2006

This is a video I just made of me solving Rubik’s Cube. The first time I got a Rubik’s Cube it took me a full week to solve it. I was addicted to the thing and spent countless hours trying to figure it out. Solving the cube requires you to do it in steps. The chances of solving it by fluke is impossible. There are simply too many possible combinations. Enjoy the video.

Absolutley worthless dude. You go way too fast, and you need to say what you are doing.

Stop showing off.

Lol, I don’t think I ever spent the time to solve the cube completely. Seeing your video has made me want to go out and get one though.

I think I’ll just stick to playing Madden. What’s your fastest time, John?

In highschool, three of my friends and I had it down to about 15-17 seconds between 3 different methods. We’re still working on the 4×4

That was scarily fast! I don’t know what I’d do with myself when I’m waiting if I was able to solve the miniature one on my key ring.

In the 80’s, I just gave-up trying to solve it and took it apart to fix it.

Much like how I took a college class with a software testing program that I found easier to reverse-engineer and hex-edit than to actually do the testing ;)

I’ve never seen it solved using that method before. I guess I’m still an amateur with the cube because currently, I solve it using one piece at a time.

I think my best time was around 18 seconds but that was ages ago… IIRC, the last time I played with my Rubick cube was in the early 1980s;)))

Did you ever try the Rubick’s Revenge?

I prefered the pyramid shaped puzzle, I could do that one in about 5 seconds.

not only are you a dotcom mogul but youre also a whiz with a rubiks cube. Im thinking you’ve got a lot of time for the fun things in life. I suggest you make Rube Goldberg device. Have you seen the Human Rube Goldberg Youtube video. It was supposed to be the ending to The Jackass movie but the screwed it up. Either way it is quite entertaining.

HMTKSteve - Yes I have solved a Rubick’s Revenge. That one took a bit time.

Rich From Your Home - I think the answer to that question is, “Whatever the mind can think and believe, it can achieve.”

anon - Canadians have ascents?
