Some Pics From The Mercer Island House

I am running things in Seattle for the next little while. I could be down here for up to three months depending on how things progress. When I’m in Seattle, I stay at a beautiful water view house on Mercer Island. It’s actually not that far from Bill Gate’s place. The house belongs to two friends of ours, a young couple who divides their time between the Mercer Island house and a water front condo on Vancouver’s Coal Harbour.

Originally purchased for $1 million, the house has since been modernized with $400,000 of renovations. Large walls of glass offer a fantastic view of Lake Washington. As modern as the house is now, it still lacks wireless Internet. This is because every room is equipped with double Ethernet outlets for high speed Internet access. The main living area has ten Ethernet ports. That’s all great and dandy but it still doesn’t help the MacBook Air since it lacks an Ethernet port. Good thing I brought my mini wireless router along.

I’m thinking of buying a place in Seattle and staying in the Mercer Island house is giving me a good idea on what it’s like to live down here. I like how the highway system go right through the city of Seattle. In Vancouver, the highway stops once you cross the bridge. I tried to experience a bit of Seattle rush hour yesterday but was too early. Traffic on the 405 was pretty good 4PM.

I will be holding this Saturday’s Dot Com Pho at Pho World in Renton. I invite all my Seattle readers to come on down at 12:30. The boys from Unique Blog Designs will be there as well. I hope to see you there. Reply to me on Twitter if you can make it. In the mean time, here’s a few more pics of the house.
