This sounds interesting, but just not convinced that it is possible. I think you may get more traffic if you reduce the amount of text and also give a FREE TRIAL for a week or month.
I can't believe that guy paid $750 without letting you do the review. Of course, if the site makes money, then it's good money spent. :)

Come on, stay away from Forex, America is in recession. Wait for good time to come.
There are still people making a lot of money by using forex, it's just we should stay away from forex if we don't have any knowledge about how to use forex and make profit from it.
$750 divided by 59,990 RSS subscribers=$0.0125 per RSS reader, and let's not forget that John has a whole army of non-Rss readers (I am among them!).
Plus, that ad will never go away.
Might even be a few other factors at work here. All-in-all, pretty good bang for the buck.
What is sad for the advertiser is that he only got 30 clicks so far... that's pretty low...
Do you know how much Forex pays? If they can get 1-2 active traders, they can easily recoup the $750.

Ya, but I don't think it's just the costumers they're after. I think the extra link forwarding to their site is probably the real reason why they posted on John's site... I mean a page rank of 5 isn't that bad at all.

I immediately left their website when I saw all that text. They need a complete design overhaul.
Putting the cost of the review aside, I think Forexoma needs to focus on a better web site / landing page. Nothing personal, but the majority of people are going to leave instantly when they see all of the text. You need to engage the reader with some interactive charts, graphics and possible video. Give them less options, and they will be more likely to signup.
I agree with you. The content over there is overwhelming and is not focused. The design is not that great either. Just suggestion by me, nothing personal. :)

Hey alfredo, I think the review written by John Chow are still worth $500... the $750 review if charged if you write your own review... Just check the advertise page, you'll see that the price is till $500...
I don't know why people think that the company is getting ripped off here. It's a fantastic investment to get yourself posted on John's blog. I mean seriously, first you get a link to your site, secondly you get a huge mob of traffic, thirdly, you can potentially make tons of money throughout time through his blog.. If I had the money, I wouldn't hesitate to get a post published on John's blog.
Well, depending on how you get featured on the blog, you will get traffic. The problem is that I'm certain that the advertiser want to get people interested in his site. With the poor review he wrote, I won't get interested in his site. If it was John Chow himself who wrote the review, it would be at least bigger, and I would find more information about the forex learning, and maybe get interested in subscribing to the offer.... well, he will have at least some good traffic for sure...

First, the link has no value because it is just an image link from an off-topic site. Google doesn't care about it. Second, the traffic we have received so far is less than 30 clicks!!!
We did know that the link has no value. We just did it for traffic. It was our first and LAST review ever.

Couldn't agree more. This advertisement had absolutely no value.... It's not even a sponsored post, it's simply just an ad... I'm actually surprised John allowed this on his blog. I've never seen anything like this in any of the content he produces.
Who would not accept a $750 by just publishing a post? I think John made the easiest money he ever made from publishing a review...

I must admit, it was pretty easy. But the company is getting the exposure and the message they want published. However, I think it would have been better if they let me write it.
I didn't know that if I write that description, you will just copy/paste it as the review and you will not write your own review. I wanted your review to be written. I just thought that it is a description that gives you an initial info to know us and write your review easier.
I would have paid $500 and get reviewed by John Chow... rather than writing a small review written by myself.
If you just wrote this little review to give john some informations about your compagny and make him write the review for you, then it all makes sense to me...
Yep the price is a bit too high! The only people who could really afford that without blinking would be the ones who don't need it! That's not the way to make money, Bruce Lee said it all "the secret is not daily increase but daily decrease; hack away at the inessentials" as in decrease your outgoings.
Maybe by walking not driving, by staying in not going out, or maybe by something more ambitious such as making your own fuel or generating your own electricity. Hmmm . . . .

What these guys are talking about??? What is $750 that you also confirmed above. We do not charge $750. That comment that says "This is $500?" and then you said "No, it’s $750." and also the next a few comments are misleading people that Forexoma.com fee is $750 which is not correct.
Forexoma.com paid $750 to have this post on my blog.

It does seem a little bare for $750, but I don't think it is exactly a waste of money. They will still receive a ton of traffic from this post. I went and looked just because I don't know anything about Forex. Also, it means that John Chow tweeted this post as well which he already charges $250 for. (unless the $750 is the $500 for the blog post and $250 for the tweet.. which might be the case). Either way, forexoma will get extra hits and if they make even a handful of transactions from this post it was worth the money.
